My best bud's Eluktronics 17" GTX 1080 has been going strong for 5 years with zero problems. I've heard nothing but good things about this company. I'd be curious about your customer service experience with them.

Company aside, this is a great deal considering the hardware specs.

No it's not. The microcenter one has 32GB of RAM, 17 3"/15.6" win11 pro vs 17.0" win11 home, but with liquid cooling.

Eluktronics is junk, both laptops I bought died after 12 months.
My MAG-15 is still going fine, aside from the battery discharging a lot faster now. I think that's normal, but I'm not sure to what degree this is acceptable.

Have a 2070 that has been great for a few years.

Not clear if this listing comes with the liquid cooling setup or just LC ready. Confirm before purchasing.

These are tongfang oem rebrands. I have the 15.6 inch maingear version of it and it is performing well. I use it for machine learning. With combination of ddr5 ram and the 3070ti, this is hard to beat. I think overheating issues have been worked quite a bit, as these are new v2 versions. Mine never gets over 85c for both GPU and CPU under load. I do use an external keyboard since keys are a little loose but no biggie

Most brands have this issue, my Asus is the same.

Are the speakers still terrible on these? I know a couple generations ago that was the only weak link left with Eluktronics. Speakers on a laptop were never important to me until I had one with decent quality audio. Now I can't go back.

I unfortunately have to mostly agree with this sentiment. We went through our first batch at work without issues, but the second batch had tons of problems. Multiple machines with wifi, usbc, and heat issues. Not everyone's but at least 50% to the point where they started ordering Dell XPS instead.

Makes me a little sad, I enjoyed my scrappy little mag-15.

That's why you should never go with lesser known brands. They lack quality in most cases.
