My best bud's Eluktronics 17" GTX 1080 has been going strong for 5 years with zero problems. I've heard nothing but good things about this company. I'd be curious about your customer service experience with them.

Company aside, this is a great deal considering the hardware specs.

No it's not. The microcenter one has 32GB of RAM, 17 3"/15.6" win11 pro vs 17.0" win11 home, but with liquid cooling.

You learned it the hard way. I hope you learned your lesson to ALWAYS choose quality brands, such as HP or Dell. This especially matters when purchasing anything expensive. Others can hopefully learn something from your unfortunate experience and avoid the same mistake you made.

I would know it is junk just from the name. It sounds like some German or Russian company. Russian because they experimented with what the KGB calls psychotronics, which sounds similar.

Google is your friend. 🙂
Then why didn't you use it before claiming they were Russian? https://www.eluktronics.com/about

Is it just me, or did the "hold the line" folks kinda miss out on the huge GPU deals? Last I checked, prices on discrete GPUs are back up considerably. I believe Nvidia has said they expect distributor inventory to normalize this quarter. Same goes for gaming laptop.. I'm not seeing much compelling out there.. I grabbed the Gigabyte 3060 laptop 16gb ram 512gb SSD from Newegg for $650 in November. Glad I did!

Bought an rp-17 with the Ryzen 7 4800h with full watt 2060 2 years ago and it's been fine. Upgraded the RAM to 32gb and added a second nvme. No issues aside from kb back lighting which wouldn't come on after awakening from sleep. But was a firm issue and has been fixed.

I've had just as many issues with Dell's Alienware laptops and their CS hasn't been helpful so YMMV.

These are tongfang oem rebrands. I have the 15.6 inch maingear version of it and it is performing well. I use it for machine learning. With combination of ddr5 ram and the 3070ti, this is hard to beat. I think overheating issues have been worked quite a bit, as these are new v2 versions. Mine never gets over 85c for both GPU and CPU under load. I do use an external keyboard since keys are a little loose but no biggie
That's like 185° in non metric places about the perfect temp for brewing coffee I don't know about cooking laptops but carry on

You are correct but I would question Gigabyte's build quality though. They aren't known for their highest standards of quality. Inform me when it stops working because I'm curious how long they last.

I've heard many bad things about Alienware too, that's why I avoid them like the plague.

Bought the refurbished 3080 16gb 15in for around $1600 with a free wireless type c mouse and applied 5%discount code from Reddit. It was almost a year ago and it is still working fine. Just checked the price is still the same on its websites.
