For what it's worth, I was stopped at least once in my international travels and had my powerbanks looked at. Pretty sure it was in Japan.
I've had my powerbanks examined once in China as well in Beijing. They didn't seem to care at any other airports in China but the one time I had to fly through Beijing they were hardcore inspecting everyone's powerbanks lol

Yeah, no one care attitude, just like Major Mike Freyholtz USAF that crashed a $340,000,000 C17 aircraft because he ordered his crew to IGNORE the safety warnings built into the aircraft. He was a C17, trainer, he knew better than the people that built the aircraft so he can just ignore policies and laws. I'm sure he had a change of mind in the seconds he knew he just killed himself, his crew and anybody on the ground he crashes into.
Hey, juggle knives if you need to feel macho or something, but it's not just you on board an aircraft, don't risk everyone else that has nothing to do with your stupidity. Just stick with a smaller battery pack on the flight and buy a larger one when you get to your destination.
"Anker 347 PowerCore 40K mAH" has nothing to do C17 crash....
Relax, no plane will crash for Anker 40K mAH battery

What is the reason you can't fly with a larger one? Fire/explosion risk?
Look up lithium batteries catching fire, it's a cascade failure, you can't stop it until it just burns out. The larger the batteries the larger the fire. Now, imagine yourself in a cigar tube, batteries in cascade failure turns into a hot mass of burning plastic, acid and heavy metals. I imagine it does not take much to fill a cabin full of toxic smoke. The larger the battery the larger the problem. I think the limit is somewhere around 74wh or maybe 100wh any larger and they won't let it on the plane.

No, but the "nobody cares" attitude is exactly what brought down the C17. The attitude of you don't have to follow the requirements and do whatever it takes to ignore the rules really does get people killed. When your up in the air or out in the ocean and something goes wrong it doesn't take much to loose your life.

Ya, you still don't get it..... Look up lithium batteries in phones just igniting spontaneously, just sitting there doing nothing at all it just starts igniting into a fireball. When larger battery packs do it like scooters and hoverboards it's all fun and games, good for a laugh, OUTSIDE. When you are in a plane, up in the air in a big tube, it's not fun and games. The toxic gasses don't just drift away. The heat does not just drift away, it gets intense fast. The size of a battery phone, sure no big deal THAT'S WHY THEY LET IT ON BOARD. But at some point it gets too big and if it goes off, too big to stop, too big to survive it. That's why too big is too big and they won't let you bring it on board.

Now, try to wrap your brain around this. You are in a plane, UP IN THE AIR, you don't have a parachute. Anything goes wrong with that plane or the pilot you die, just that simple. Look up business jet crashes, look up plane crashes, the causes are little no big deals. Someone faked maintenance records, someone put rivets in a repair an inch too far to the left or right. Sometimes someone didn't put a single zip tie in the right spot, all small little nothings but yet brings entire planes down and people die.
I'm not being "politically correct" I just have a problem with someone FAKING the markings on a battery pack to bring a too large of a pack on board. I have a problem of other people dying because one stupid person decided to be a tool and risk everyone's life for a nothing reason, convenience.
Hey, you want to risk your own life in your OWN plane fine, bring whatever you want on board. But risking other people's lives in a commercial flight is just a big pile of excrement that nobody should put up with.
