Any suggestions on eating nuts in moderation? I tried using it as a mixture in a huge bowl of other low calories, high volume snacks like popcorn, pretzels which sort of works. And try to limit myself to around 30 grams of nuts. My downfall is usually when I eat nuts directly from the pouch, no measuring and just continue eating it nonstop, which easily turns into thousands if calories

Nuts can be beneficial when trying to control cravings but the problem is they are so calorie dense that usually they add way too many calories to your diet. Unless you are eating fiber and protein dense foods then feeling satiated is almost impossible. Popcorn and pretzels are great as a snack but the carbs in them just make you crave more carbs. I myself eat nuts every day but usually have to combine them with Fiber One bars. The bars come in several flavors including brownie, coffee cake, birthday cake, etc. They are only 70 calories each, 5g of carbs, and fiber rich. That keeps me feeling fuller and less likely to eat handfuls of nuts that are 200 calories a handful.

I try to avoid buying large containers like this which are easily the best value, and spend more money to buy individual packs in bulk, obviously.

Get unsalted, like the Whole Natural variety of Blue Diamond, so you aren't eating them to satisfy a salt craving. I still get these lightly salted ones every once in a while, since they are my favorite almonds. I do eat them way too fast.

I usually get the Member's Mark whole almonds at Sam's. They are cheaper, have a less crunchy texture (even than the Whole Natural), and have more questionable ones. I think they are meant for cooking, since they aren't with the Blue Diamond almonds in the snack food area. I hand sort and air fry them one serving at a time to limit portion size. It takes about 10 minutes at 300F (my air fryer is a little weak, so you might want to try shorter/cooler; they should still be pale on the inside, not brown) and they need around 10-20 minutes to cool in order to become crispy, since they come out of the air fryer pretty soft. Transferring them to a plate or shallow bowl speeds that up, but it still limits how fast I can eat them.

Because you don't own smaller bags to put them in? Logic is flawed, same issue if can't control yourself from opening another pack.

Almonds have oxalates, which can lead to kidney stones. Beef jerky is a better option, which can lead to optimal health.

Cause I am too lazy to spend time packing them in separate bags. I prefer the convenience of the premeasured prepackaged bags.

Dead on. I dampen and very lightly sea salt then air fry for 6 minutes at 375 single layer. Cooling etc. as above. Very informative reply UpbeatJuice8080 Applause

You do still need to portion it out for yourself one way or another so that you can fit either the serving size or whatever amount you require for your specific purposes/needs. This is why it's usually hard to buy big bags of chips and eat them directly from the bag, as you are less likely to stop within a reasonable amount of time and consume "too much".

You can typically take a handful from the bag and use that as your measuring tool, then either eat it directly from your hand, place it on a napkin or plate, or a bag or snack container if it is for later, whichever you prefer. The bigger bags are a little better in some ways since you can raise or lower the amount per serving to better fit your personal preferences/needs over the standard one.

Just limit yourself to one medium handful per day. Also, drink a big glass of water 30 minutes before snacking.
