If you're wondering what weight and size of heavy punching bag is best for you, the general rule is that heavy bags should be approximately half your body weight. A 200 pound person may find a 100 pound bag suitable for use. For most adults, hanging bags should be at least 80 pounds to provide a good experience.
That being said, 70 lbs. may be a good starting point for teenagers or beginners but expect it to move around more. Especially if your over 160 lbs or hit hard. Make sure you learn to wrap your hands also. Cheaper gloves don't have the best support.

If you have any punching power at all, 70lb bag will FLY around and be nearly unusable unless you are going 50% or less.
