yeah Forget "nationwidedistributorgroup" they pull a bait and switch and will act like you are getting the US version and then send you the Japanese version.
-warranty doesn't work
-box is different despite the pictures (they mostly put up USA boxes, but ship JAP boxes

Please stop spending money on a 6 years old tech product. Nintendo is not going to release a switch 2 if y'all keep doing that
Why?
NES was 10 years before discontinuation
SNES was 9 years
N64 was 6 years
Gamecube was 6 years.
Wii was 7 years (though the final revision of the Wii, the Wii Mini, was discontinued in 2017, so one could argue 11 years)
Wii-U was 5 years
And even after discontinuation, games are still made. The thing you'll see in common for EACH of these consoles is there was at least a year or two of support on last gen systems once a new gen was released. Hell, Just Dance 2020 was released on a 14 year old console.
Not to mention, with digital games, those e-shops tend to phase out a good while after the system is discontinued. Easy 4 years minimum on this "6 years old tech product". Nintendo has a solid grip in this sector and it will honestly be difficult for them to get people to move anytime soon unless they come out with yet another, ground breaking console.
Got similar deal as a gift for my daughter. All Japanese, and will not connect to 5ghz access point, but connects to 2.4ghz. However, we plug it in ethernet at home and have no issues. Get this to save a few bucks, otherwise pass and look fo a bundle deal.
I regret buying a switch everyday. Cheap materials, no ethernet, joycons will break quickly, games suck tbh even ports don't play well. wouldn't get another if it was free

I had a V2 switch before I won an OLED switch from a contest at work.
I don't think I'd pay to upgrade, even if I was using handheld often.
Depends on the person. I still have my v1 but recently grabbed the oled. The screen quality, size and battery life are worthwhile upgrades if you aren't docking it a lot. If you are docking it a bunch then it's not worthwhile. I'm a big fan of the oled, has me using the switch more.

On the white one, the packaging pictured obviously includes Japanese characters. But that's not the case with the other.
