I have the 6 gallon. Do yourself a favor and get bags for them if you use it inside.

None are officially supported, but I used knock off VF3501 from Amazon and they work fine.

I've had the 6gallon for a few years. Decent suction and battery life is good for vacuuming sand out of two cars. But by far and away my favorite feature is the handle. The latches are strong enough to pick it up and swing it around. Unlike every other shop vac I've owned. Not being tethered by a cord is nice too. Id highly recommend it.

I have just about every 18v ryobi tool produced. I have beat the tar out of them and they have performed excellent and the majority of them have been the factory refurbs from the outlet store. That being said, i am fairly disappointed with this Vac (6 gallon) Poor suction. I have only used it a few times and if anyone in the 32202 area is interested I will give it to you for free (tool only). Send me message.

edit:

I have one, got it for like $60 refurbished. Also pretty unhappy with it. That 4-mah battery lasts maybe 20-26 minutes max. Typically more like 16 minutes.

If you just want it for some light jobs then it's will work however in a shop or situation you need it for longer periods of time get a wired one.

I actually am going to keep mine for smaller jobs I don't want to lug a shop vac and cable.

I just wish it had an option to accept a cable as well. Would make it so much more useful.

I got this via DTO for $55 via slickdeals few years ago. It's held up well. You'll definitely need the 4ah or higher battery if you want to use it for more than 15mins. Suction power is subpar. Personally, I probably wouldn't buy it again even at the price I bought it for. It's just so clunky and for a DIY guy like myself I haven't found a lot of uses for the capacity. I find myself grabbing my Dyson animal when I have small messes. Haven't had much of a use for this.

There's three vacs mentioned, which are you talking about?

Got this vac 2 or 3 years ago when HD used to have a great tool selection during the holiday buy 2pk 4ah starter kit, get free bare tool. I am actually extremely happy with this vacuum to be honest. Get some bags and a good filter and it really hasn't let me down. Obviously any cordless vacuum you buy is going to eat through batteries, so I strongly recommend getting the 9ah hp battery. Since getting the 9ah, I haven't had a cleaning session where I ran it dead. You get max suction for a longer time (~25min vs ~15min on a 4ah). With the 4ah Batts, when it gets down to 2 bars thats when power starts weening off, so yeah you'll probably be disappointed cleaning out your SUV. The bigger batteries make the difference.

I have the 6gal a week ago and didn't really like it. But I think I'm going to keep it. Got w/o the battery for 98.

It's loud, chew thru battery like crazy, 4ah last like 15-20 mins use. It's also kinda bulky to lug around. It's sucks tho.

129 with the battery seem like a good deal.

Someone here recommended bag but why do you need that for a shop vac. I'm really curious. It seems easy enough to dump.

I use a shop vac to vacuum ashes out of my wood burning stove. Without the bag, ashes shoot out the blower port and into the room. Same for sawdust.
With a bag, everything gets trapped in the vac.

I have this, okay and use it now and then when you don't want to break out the drop cord. Not very powerful even compared to a little POS 1 gallon wet-dry vac I have.

You probably need the 40v 10gal one to get close to the power of any wired wet vac
