My ZFlip3 lasted about a year before the peeling at the crease. It's not the screen though, it's the screen protector. I'd look into it again before doing it yourself but when I looked into it people seemed to say "pull it off it doesn't matter" and that's what I did. Never had any issues after that, but I did trade in for a Zflip4 shortly afterwards so it didn't have more than a month or two of use without the screen protector.
I took the stock screen protector off then the screen itself started to crack on the crease too

Lol. This seems like a case issue though. My s22u doesn't do this, but maybe we just have different pockets
