I found this deal and ordered one last Saturday, received it Tuesday. Would have posted this here, but it seems if I don't "hand hold" people, I get beat up. Kinda sux, but I decided not to bother anymore. It's a shame that a few morons can create hostility towards a person only trying to help. So it is what it is, but I DO appreciate those who continue to post.

Back on topic, this is a very nice device and my son who has the 2022 version of this likes mine better. Mostly because of the rear fingerprint reader vs on the side of the 2022 (and cost of course).

Mine came with Android 12, yet needed several security updates which I took. Once done, I factory reset it to clear any leftovers. Still not setup for my daily driver yet as it takes up to a week being connected to WiFi or mobile before "OEM unlocking" becomes available to allow bootloader unlock so I can root it. I wasn't aware that it HAS to be online for some time for this toggle to become available (according to Lenovo themselves). I already voided any warranty just by getting the BL Unlock code, so hopefully all goes well. Just waiting for the OEM unlocking toggle in developer options to appear so I can do the deed (which will wipe everything anyway) and actually put this in use.

I like that there is no carrier bloat on this and many apps that I will never use can be uninstalled (Facebook, TikTok, etc.), and those "baked in" can at least be disabled.Once I achieve root access, I'll rip them out altogether to free up space. There is a fully working TWRP recovery available [xda-developers.com] from my friends on XDA developers that I've already staged.

Plopped in a Red Pocket (T-mobile network) SIM from a spare LG V20 with a minimal plan this morning just to verify everything works (and am letting it sit "connected"), then I'll put my RP VZW sim in it and set it up on my real Google account. That or I may try the $15/month Visible plan deal for a year (that is about to expire) - decisions decisions...

Originally got this for the missus (and the $130 4G model for me) but I returned that one today (due to the side FP reader) and I'm keeping this one. Gonna order another for her in a moment (she doesn't need root), and we're both used to the rear FP reader on the LG V20's we currently use.

All said, for $180 this is a very nice phone.

Not quite sure what the hand holding means. I don't frequent the boards here, just search for deals when I am in the market for something. I found this deal and figured I'd post. Guess others don't think it's that good of a deal.

The other Moto deals are dead so I ended up finding this and ordered it for my wife. The battery, 5G, and headphone jack were the big sellers. I have used Moto Gs for the longest but switched to a OnePlus N10 and have been underwhelmed. Even though all the specs of my phone are better than this, part of me almost ordered two so I could switch back to Moto.

Been a Motorola fan for years but got into the LG V20 several years ago. Being at least a 6 years old device (latest version is Oreo (v8), I'm back in the Moto camp. Much easier to flash firmware and the like than the brutal process of rooting the V20's.

I'm contemplating this phone but the 6GB/256GB version directly from Motorola for $180 ($200 less 10% with YOUDECIDE10 promo code). https://www.motorola.com/us/smart...?skuId=619

Not sure I'll use the stylus much but the combo of features seems good for me.

EDIT: Contemplation is completed. Will be arriving in a couple of days!
