According to Tom's, the 6950XT edges out the 4070 Ti if you're not using ray tracing or DLSS. The 4070 has a healthy lead with ray tracing though.

I feel in a couple months these prices will drop even more. 4070ti is not selling the 7900xt isn't selling nor is the 4080. I'd wait and let these companies know we aren't crypto miners with unlimited funds.

you can run this on a lower wattage psu easily. They just say that to account for the absolute worst power supplies.

Microcenter has the PowerColor RX 6950XT for $685. I am tempted to pull the trigger on that one...
ASROCK > Powercolor all day.

People mentioning the weaker ray tracing performance vs the 4070 ti, but not many people mentioning that this card has 4GB of VRAM more than the 4070 ti. I have a 6700 xt with 12GB and that is a mid range 1440p targeted card. I feel like 12GB for the 4070 ti targeting 4K high is kinda underwhelming by today's standards, let alone a couple years from now.

I agree. VRAM amount offered by several of NVIDIA's current and last gen offerings are pretty crummy. In particular, the RTX 3070/3070 Ti 8 GB for 1440p and now RTX 4070 Ti at 12GB for 4k are likely going to limit your texture quality options in the years to come. But I'm sure NVIDIA will enjoy it when people feel compelled to upgrade because they don't have the VRAM to run high/ultra textures or mods in the years to come.

Given the glut of memory right now, it's even more shameful.

This is basically slander. And uninformed
Maybe present something that actually contributes to the discussion rather than simply complaining and crying "slander". I'm not impressed by pricing for either AMD or NVIDIA, and I'm simply pointing out that several GPUs have pretty crummy VRAM amounts for high res/texture gaming.

It seems like you don't keep up with benchmarks/reviews. The RTX 3070/Ti in particular were called out by many, including Hardware Unboxed, for being stingy on VRAM despite how much NVIDIA was charging.

12gb vram is plenty for any resolution, you have no clue what you're talking about.

This 6950 is a fine card but the 4070 ti will crush it with frame generation.
My 7900 is using 16.37gb on the COD 2 benchmark at 1440p. It's slightly higher at 4k. Sure I could dial back settings but why it's still running faster than my monitor refreshes. 12gb is enough your right, but imo it's pretty lacking for today's games and moving forward in those price ranges. My 695xt used 12.53gb of vram on the same settings fyi guys.

Using it and needing it isn't the same thing. Just looking at what's be currently used isn't a great indicator.

I used a 10gb 3080 at 4K for a couple years without worrying about vram.

Just because something doesn't sell out instantly doesn't mean it isn't selling. A few days after the release I was one of several people buying a 4070Ti at MicroCenter, and they had tons more reserved for pickup. They obviously had fewer 4080s and 4090s, but even had some of those in stock.

Remember the times when it was normal for there to be product inventory on a shelf in a store?
