According to Tom's, the 6950XT edges out the 4070 Ti if you're not using ray tracing or DLSS. The 4070 has a healthy lead with ray tracing though.

I feel in a couple months these prices will drop even more. 4070ti is not selling the 7900xt isn't selling nor is the 4080. I'd wait and let these companies know we aren't crypto miners with unlimited funds.

you can run this on a lower wattage psu easily. They just say that to account for the absolute worst power supplies.

Just ordered one as it seems like a good value now, and one of the best performing 6950 XT cards according to TechPowerUp. I doubt the price will go any lower and if it sold out, I'd be kicking myself.

They are not good prices, they are horrible prices but if you must have one then you have to decide the price/performance currently...not what it should be. I started off with a used 1080ti for $200, then a 6700xt, 6800xt, 3080Ti...and finally settled on this. The 1080Ti would have been all I ever need LMAO but I splurged on a higher end card to last for the next 5 years.

Who knows, I've asked my nephew to send back my 1660 super and maybe I'll just use that again and return this card un-opened
My 5950x with 64GB ram is currently running a 750ti. My 15 y/o Dell 30" just died so I have to buy card and monitor Frown

Im tempted. I've been disappointed in NVIDIA and AMD's high price tags for next gen. I thought about holding off but maybe this may keep me going for years to come. I mainly game at 1440p.
I run a red devil 6950xt and use a ultra wide 1440p and get great results. It's a beast of a card and plan to hold on to mine for a bit

None of these cards are good deals and yet everyone keeps buying them and then complaining about prices.

10000%. The reality is there is still demand for cards or they wouldn't be sold out constantly (4090 and 7900XTX). It's strange how all the YouTube reviews on the new cards all center around price.

Let's be honest nobody needs anything more than something from the 20XX series. Nobody needs to run every game 150FPS+. People are just buying based on pure want and luxury at this point.

If people will buy a $1600 JPG on the "blockchain" then they sure as hell will buy a $1600 graphics card. Dumping $1000 on a graphics card does not make sense for the mass majority of people yet they're still doing it.

Most of us would be plenty served by a PS5. Most of the games that benefit most from being on PC do not need powerful hardware (WoW, LoL, indie early access games, etc.) There are exceptions like Tarkov but still.
Just holding out on my little GTX 2070 bounce

how is it a deal when 4070 ti is $799?
I'd say both are still priced high BUT roughly correctly in relation to each other for the average gamer. I saw this one go down to $700 shortly after the RTX 4070 Ti launch. So, I guess that's a small hollow victory for the gaming masses. We bullied NVIDIA into un-launching the "RTX 4080 12GB" ($900) and now AMD's RX 6950 XT's also drop.

Hooray?

Yeah it's a little better in most games but also $150 more at the moment. If this 6950 was $600 it would be a buy but at $700 not sure.

Roughly equivalent going by those charts. Game dependent though. Some it's worse than a $400 6800xt, some it's better than an $800 7900xt.

I'd like to know where you can get a 6800 XT for $400.

nah. Check YouTube comparisons. It's clearly a beefier card. They're in the same "range" but the 4070ti is clearly a bit faster
