Or just learn to cook on stainless.
A bit weird that triply cookware is oven safe only up to 450.
I think that's because of the glass lids in this set. The 12 piece tramontina set at costco is oven safe up to 500 but the lids are all stainless.

Anyone know if this is 18/8 and if it's actually made by Tramontina?

Possibly and there is another suggestion that is made by Meyers Industries who makes kitchenaid and a few other brands. But that apparently would mean Made in Thailand but the product page says Made in China so I dunno.

Does the Costco gift card trick work here? Meaning if I get a sams gift card it will allow me to show at the warehouse / use it online without being a member?

Costco gift card trick does not work with Sams. Here is one way that I know works or you may simply try becoming a member through this deal
https://slickdeals.net/f/16206019-new-sam-s-club-members-buy-1-year-sam-s-club-membership-for-50-get-50-off-50-first-in-club-purchase?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

You can shop online at the Sam's Club website, samsclub.com, with a non-member guest 10% service fee up-charge (Costco has a similar up-charge, but it is only 5%). You can do this via a guest registration.

https://www.samsclub.com/account/...gistration

Note that most grocery items are not available to ship, and you cannot pick up in store with the guest registration.

Yea not really. That's the problem living in NYC area you got Elmsford, Valleys Stream and Seacacus. Making SamsClub is not really as accessible. BJs and Costco has many more stores/locations.

With these discount warehouses the better pricing (most of the time) is in store.

I have the old set that was made by Tramontina - Brazil. The build construction on these don't look the same. If anything it's the Tramontina - China version.

Some reviews said these are hard to clean. Is that due to them not pre heating the pan long enough?

That's the safe temp w/o the lid, it's 350 with them. Seems really low.

Same here - love them on my induction - ended up buying a second set. I believe the Chinah Tramontina set has the glass lids.

Stainless can be hard to clean, its not the non stick like many are used to. But its still the best all around for cooking. Shouldn't be any difference cleaning these over any other tri ply stainless.
