FYI From Q&A: "My Champion cannot maintain 60htz freq above 700 W or so and is useless as a backup for my off-grid home. The company warantee is worthless. If you are planning in using it to power electronic equipment beware."

It's not an inverter generator.

Says nothing about it being an inverter generator.

Good price but not an inverter. The manual itself recommends purchasing a surge suppressor for sensitive electronics. Pass.

This doesnt seem like a deal at all. Yes, it is dual-fuel, and it has electric start. And both of those are great features... but in this price range, I would probably suggest an inverter that was shown here on SlickDeals a few times in the past:

IMO, dual fuel is more a gimmick than a helpful option. Should have bought this one wnen is was ~ $850.00. I will wait for this to go on sale again...Amazon.com : Champion Power Equipment 100520 8750-Watt DH Series Open Frame Inverter, Electric Start : Patio, Lawn & Garden

It has a governor screw on it to allow you ro increase hertz. Easy to do. Agreed not as good as inverter generator. Set it to 62 or 62.5 h with no load and it shouldn't go below 58 or 59 with load. If you call them, rhey will walk you through it....

Anyone have a suggestion for a Power inverter to use with this? I keep reading that those are the best to clean up fluctuations for sensitive electronic use, but I can't seem to find anything.

Everything with Inverter in the title seems to be DC-AC conversion and not AC-DC-AC.

Or maybe I'm interpreting everything wrong - In that case, any suggestion for a line conditioner, surge protector that cleans up dirty power would be welcome.

They would be several hundred dollars if you could find one. Better off putting that money towards an inverter generator. The only thing you will find for inline are surge protectors like on rv 30a cables, which don't condition the power and those are hundreds of dollars themselves....

The Westinghouse 5300DFv 120/240V is a far more capable dual fuel generator and it is on sale for Sams Club members for $450 through the 22nd. Conventional 240V generators are a better choice for resistance loads like water and space heaters and cooking. They can easily energize the house panel. I switch over to a hand carry 2500 watt inverter when those loads aren't needed. Or I charge a battery inverter with the conventional to keep electronics fridge and lights up.
