I'm not sure I'd use the term audiophile but I definitely dabble, and i would not "snub my nose" at this. Used appropriately and with proper expectations this could add much needed low end to your living room movie night. Very easy to get $50 worth of "utility" out of something like this if you treat it with care, in my opinion.

i think i figured it out myself with similar question. you would just use the RCA cable included. plug it into the red input for speaker.

You need to connect to the lfe port on the sub, which yours I'm guessing doesn't have....

Unfortunately due to all the electronics that go into a sound bar, good ones aren't cheap. You may try the used market. Just realize they have a lot of cloth and get pretty banged up. Best Buy has a house brand that is usually affordable. And the higher end Vizio sound bars get good reviews. Look for those used in good condition. Also Bose used may be a good choice, just make sure there is a rca subwoofer out.

You want a cable like this for subs without an lfe jack.

Yes, that mini amp does have a subwoofer preout, although it uses a 3.5mm headphone jack instead of an RCA connection. You would need a 3.5mm to RCA cable; they are pretty easy to find.

I'm trying to figure out if this amp has enough power. Specs say 80W*2 for the speakers which are max 75W at 4-8 ohms. Doesn't seem like (if I max out volume) it will be enough power for this 60W subwoofer?

This subwoofer is active/powered, which means it plugs into an AC outlet and has its own built-in amplifier. Unlike a passive subwoofer, it doesn't draw power from the amp; the subwoofer output on your SMSL unit will send the signal only.

I ordered mine from Monoprice, item came with scuff marks all over and corners dented. Looked like someone repackaged a return (box is all torn and taped up) and shipped it out to me. Terrible. I used to think Monoprice was pretty decent, now I'm not so sure. Last time i ordered a standing desk from Monoprice, it was missing 1 screw, and only found out after i'm 90% done with the desk, had to do without that screw (not a structural issue) and didn't want to wait and deal with CS.

Requesting for an exchange, awaiting approval. Would've ordered from amazon except amazon wait was 2-3 months at the time I ordered, will hesitate next time ordering from Monoprice direct.
