Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

for folks ordering in cali, can you pick any tesla location for delivery/pick up or it has to be the one closest to the registered address ?
Did you order from existing inventory or placed an order to be built? In my case, I ordered from the existing inventory and drove to that Tesla location which was not the closest to my home.

The Standard Range of the AWD Model Y is back after a short hiatus. Tesla has quietly slipped the model back into the lineup and slapped a $64,000 starting price on it with only 40 units available from stock in the US to start with.

Are you and anyone else worried they're going to rush these through manufacture leading to even worse build quality issues? I'd be lying if I said it hasn't crossed my mind lots Frown

I ordered Friday afternoon from existing inventory. Took delivery today (Monday) 1pm.
I picked mine up today as well. Must say that so far it is great. (Model Y), I have had in 2021 a Mach E, in 2022 an Ioniq 5, my wife has a Kona EV. This is another level.

It is probably because you added a color, rims or white interior. Red color adds 2k and others at 1k to the base price. White interior also added $1k to the price. Wheels add $2k. And tow hitch adds 1k.

So double check all the additions.

And the destination charge and $250 order fee isn't counted towards the 55k tax credit limit.

do honda/toyota give refund back when they lower the price of cars 2-3 days after you buy it?
Big difference, Honda/Toyota are negotiated deals and Tesla is not. People would understand if they negotiated a bad deal. MSRP usually don't go down.
