Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

The lyriq is not the same price. It's $63,000 with the base model. That's $10,000 more. Do you even research?
That's the loaded price for the lyriq

If you think the Y is a better car, do yourself a favor, don't drive the lyriq. You will feel like a fool for even considering the Y or even an S. Styling alone kills my S.

PPF is a waste of money. $3-4k for that? So what? To protect the paint for the next owner? And to get it removed it's another $1500. They usually peel after 5 years. Waste of money.
Remove it yourself?

Hey neighbors, so cool that there's a few of us from Raleigh in here lol.

Wow that's not bad at all. $470 but that includes the wall connector price? I think the wall connector line is $350, that's great!

I do not see this vendor on Tesla find electrician list though. Are you familiar with them? Have you used them before?
Please note the installation costs vary from individual to individual based on where their panel is located. If the panel is in the basement or some where much farther than the 6 ft listed , please be prepared to pay more

Curious what your battery's health is like on your MS. Any noteworthy issues?
I started off at around 280 and now my range is 224. Very acceptable

I am in Apex also. I have not found any benefits provided by Apex Electric Department in relation to owning an EV. Stinks because Duke Energy is offering a rebate for installing charging equipment.

Did you local guys order a 3 or Y? I have not seen any movement delivery for my M3P still shows Jan-Feb in app and completed all task.
Ordered model Y Friday around 1130am, mine still has not yet updated. But from what I've seen once you get an update, the delivery time is very quick like 1-2 week window.

I need to decide whether to do the wall or nema+ mobile based on cost so I was just researching this, I imagine it would take some time for the charger to arrive + scheduling installation

The scenario above was absolutely righjt and you are not saying nothing that discredits it. If you are owed $10000 on your original tax return, the government will send you $17,500 as long as you have that much liability. That is what he/she said and it is absolutely right.
What pugxiwawa said was correct and this statement above is wrong. The government will not send you the 7500 credit if you are owed $10000 on your original tax return. They will only send you the $10000 owed.
The tax credit will only reduce your liability for what you owe. You're better off just reducing the amount you prepay in taxes so you have that liability at the end of the year.

This is the statement from the IRS page.

"The credit is nonrefundable, so you can't get back more on the credit than you owe in taxes. You can't apply any excess credit to future tax years."

You can change it as long as VIN is not assigned. On the Tesla App, change the finance to loan (if you had cash) or vice versa and save to make sure it's not complete status and then click on Manage to open the browser and there will be an option to edit design. Once you are done with your changes, you can go back and set the correct finance option and make it complete status.

Be careful with Craigslist found electricians. Me and my family both used various people and they did not appear like licensed electricians. I would not risk such an big install and possible fire hazard to save a few bucks
I don't see Solutions Electric listed on Tesla electricians page.

Agree 100%

Doesn't need to be a Tesla approved electrician, but you do need one who's certified. It will cost a couple hundred more, at the most, but I wouldn't want to take chances of a failed inspection, or at the worst a potential fire hazard or short circuit. Don't nickel and dime when you're buying a 50k car.

Also, remember that most utilities will cover the cost of installation. If they don't, there are Fed incentives that I've posted here earlier, that will give you back 30%. Just google EV incentives and there are tons of online resources.

You can get any certified electrician. Don't need to go with Tesla approved ones ?
