Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Well...if mod doesn't have vested interest in this thread maybe Mr. Musk monitors it to make sure that nobody posts anything accurate?

I can't believe people can seriously consider a car without carplay/android auto in 2023. Not even to mention the rest of the issues coming with this econobox priced like lincoln aviator.
Maybe it's Goldman Sachs monitoring Wink

Lincoln aviator=Ford I did look at their PHEV/EVs. Reliability is an issue. Do they have 3 row version too?

^this.

Looks like mod is deleting accurate comments about tesla to get that cashback coming. LMAO

Musk is a smart due:

No carplay
No android auto
No towing
No parking sensors
Faux leather which makes you sweat/freeze depending on climate
No roadtrips

And yet he found a way for the masses to still bite on it. Kudos!
He stopped calling it vinyl (faux) leather and started calling it vegan. And it worked!!!

I don't think you can order it online and I don't think $2K difference is worth X miles of range.

I have a standard range M 3. It was a $5k difference when I bought at $35k-fed credits. Lowest price ever, close to even regular sedan prices at the time.

Unfortunately that is not case with this Y purchase vs other PHEV/ EV SUVs. Prove me wrong w/ comps?
Right, you cannot create custom order but sometimes there is ready to order inventory becoming available.

$2K is not huge but on the other hand why pay more if there is no real word difference in terms of skipping a charger or two on a long trip with a LR.

Question:

1. I read the rule from Treasury Department is going to change in March, like 1st of March or End of March???
2. I figure I have to take delivery of the car for it to qualify right?
3. Anyone know the delivery estimate if I order today???

Assuming the color adds $1000, the standard range MY is $50990.
and if you order a model Y (any model Y), go to the finance and click view.
you will see
Model Y is 39990
LR AW is 13000 add on
destination fee is 1390

so no, the price of standard model Y, even if color cost 1000, is 41000, plus destination fee of 1400 would land you somewhere around 42500

and btw, that's exactly how much it was going to be for the standard version, until elon said the 245 mile is too low to be useful and cancel the standard version.

1) No date has been published as of yet, but the plan is for it to be sometime in March.

2) Correct. The date that you take delivery of the car is the one that matters.

3) It's too difficult to predict due to customizations, location, and other factors.

I hope this helps,

It's HUUGGE difference for longer trips, with fam/kids in tow. What is the # miles/time $2k is buying over X years

Agree no difference in day use, but also will affect resale one day. I intend to market my 3 as range unlockable one day... but not sure if it's software locked on Y?

So it's not only Elon who's monitoring the thread but creators too? EEK! You tesla guys are well connected!
I highly doubt Musk is monitoring this thread. And I'm definitely not a "Tesla guy."

I would jump buy at $42,500 but that's not what I'm seeing in inventory. It changes $/Range completely. I was able to order SR 3 off menu in 2019, but if your price is right I would jump now.

Anyone else try to custom order SR Model Y is 39990? I believe he's missing X,000 add on part that SR still has a lower amount.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank TofuVic

This is a kind request to treat this thread as a deal thread that is filled with facts and helpful information.

Your opinions are important, but please don't let them detract from the deal portion of the conversation. If you dislike Tesla - and you have every right to be! - and you'd like to help others by convincing them to not buy a Tesla, please state compelling reasons. For products in which I'm interested, I definitely want to know both the pros and the cons, but insulting other people and giving no details about why you hate a product doesn't help anyone.

I personally post cons of products on a regular basis, and sometimes I understand it looks like thread-crapping. But after stating why a product may be a bad purchase, if people are still interested in buying it, I will still try to help them get a good deal on the product. Their money is theirs to spend; I may dislike the product or company, but as a member of a deal community, my primary goal is to help people save money on products they want to purchase.

Thank you and take care,
Tofu Vic
