Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

I don't think there is a way other than Tesla rep can get you that exact info.
Few folks tried that per recent comments and found out sales adviser from Tesla giving out incorrect info.
Only way to confirm is when you are physically checked the car for delivery and reject/accept.
(Reject from here means you won't have 20" wheels in MYLR 5 seat config to qualify for $7500 tax credit)
Others chime in if there are any other ways to get that info...
I asked my SA, he said matrix LED will not be available in any cars. I also read some article posted in this thread https://driveteslacanada.ca/model...mporarily/ - matrix led on MY was temporary due to some part shortage and now it is back to normal, so more matrix LEDs it looks like.

Tesla rep said, USS (Sensors) will be removed from all models (even S & X) this year and quoted an article : https://www.tesla.com/support/tra...sla-vision

Youtube it.
I've already Youtube it, watched several delivery inspections videos and have a checklist.
I was asking the posters own feedback of his delivery.

Yep! I'm in that same boat. I was addressing someone talking about people putting in an order, with no intention of actually buying. That equates to throwing away $250.
That's what I was addressing. I also ordered one and hoping to make the cutoff.
Hopefully our debt limit becomes a huge mess in congress that sidebars Yellen's staff's time and there's no clarification for many months.

For taking delivery - is there a link to excel checklist or can you recommend any video?
I am taking delivery today evening.

How was the build quality on your M3P? Any issues that I should be aware of in advance?
It was fine. Small blotch of glue/residue above the door, about the size of a pencil eraser than I'm still trying to completely remove.

I've bought 6 brand new cars in the past 12 years, none of them have been perfect upon delivery. And what bothers one person might no bother another.

I do think the paint on my '23 is better than my '20. Both Fremont builds.

I don't understand why the $7500 credit has a hard cutoff instead of a phase-out formular base on AGI.
Well….$150,000 and $300,000 is usually considered "well off."

I ordered M3 base on 1/13, deliver schedule text came today 1/24 - the only delivery dates available were 2/3, 2/4, 2/5 - I'll take it on 2/4. Plenty of timeslots were still available for those 3 days, nothing else was available to pick from calendar.

Yes. Same in MA - only 3 days Feb 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Not sure why they are not opening slots from Feb 4th or before Feb 1st.

Yes, but that's not the point. It at least needs a phase out formular to cover $7500 after tax income. Otherwise, a family earning $301k will ends up with less income after buying the same car comparing to a family earning $300k AGI. Normally IRS tax credits involve gradual phasing out range. Not sure why this ev credit is special.

It IS the point. Decisions have to be made. Not everything is going to work out in your favor.

Don't get me wrong, I understand what you're saying. But life isn't always fair.

Enjoy the fact that you make more money than 99% of the world. I do.
