Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

the Tesla is arguably safer and even for me, twice it has moved on its own, in protecting itself from vehicles that would have hit me.

>>> Not bashing - really want to know from people who already own one. How much of this will be true without the radar and pure vision?
I guess it wouldn't work at all without autopilot.. if that is what you mean. what im saying is that once, I was sitting at a dead stop at a traffic light, and it rolled forward on its own about a foot or 2 (but obviously not too far to hit the car in front of me) . I looked around wondering what happened.. there was a Mack truck right on my bumper. Also on autopilot it moved me over a lane on the highway.. turns out a semi truck came over into my lane! but you know maybe those cars you mentioned have this ability too though.. lots of new cars coming out with great safety features!

Now compare a 2023 Corolla Hybrid at base $23,000 which has more interior room, that gets 54mpg and your numbers fail big time. Fact one could buy two Corolla's for the price of the Tesla 3.
Corolla does not have more interior room, or cargo room as Model 3 is both longer and wider.

I had one specifically labeled" Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement"
I believe that is what Tower is asking for with "Purchased order, including VIN.
I uploaded both MVPA and Motor Vehicle Order Agreement to Tower.

Old news by a day and will not impact Tesla price cut, you meant to say Federal Credit of $7500 might get impacted
Chances of getting passed "0", has to be passed by Senate and signed by President

I located Power of Attorney doc at tower: https://www.towerfcu.org/wp-conte...torney.pdf

Since it was not located in my Docs prepopulated with data. Looks like I can fill in the make, model vin etc.
I assume the field labeled "account no:" is the Vehicle Loan Application #?

It's still largely on track, as long as you take possession before the decision is made in March. We don't know when it March.

Question for the Money heads (please don't judge my $ naivety)

What if I had the cash to buy the car, but instead took a 36-month loan from Tower @ 2.24%, and invested the cash I already have in a 3-year CD at 4.35%?

Is there a catch that I'm not seeing here?
From what I'm looking at, the only thing you "may" not be seeing is you'll have to pay tax on the interest paid to you on the CD. But that's trivial. You would still be making the correct move. That's the move I'm expecting to make when the time comes.
