Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Has anyone seen the $50k standard range model Y's pop up since the initial start?
I actually just snagged one yesterday from existing inventory in the Seattle area. Pearl white with induction wheels. $52,990 before destination and order fees. Estimated delivery 2/11 - 2/18.

How do you get an electric BMW for about 36K?
Or BMW electric SUV for 46K?

You probably can't even get an electric Kia for 36K
Unless you make more than the average person, the tax credit is mostly useless. So I don't see a 36k Tesla on the website.sorry.

You are so ill informed I don't even know where to start. Mercedes was recently approved for level 3 driving. Tesla has not reached level 3. Do you live under a rock? Tesla is no longer miles ahead of other companies on this. Read the news once and awhile- you might learn something

The point is that tesla chose not to include a feature that wouldn't cost them much. It costs them maybe $500 at most to include USS. Huge oversight in cars with otherwise great tech.
Mercedes was approved recently, tesla is on the road already with whatever level they are in since last 5 years.. you are comparing a baby in womb with 5 years old.. also do not expect to get a merc SUV for 50K even in next 10 years

and how much do you think a dashcam or sentry feature would be to add when you already have cameras around? 50000 ?

yes you are right, I live under the rock called "present reality", but not under "future imagination"

How can one delay delivery? I got a text to tell me to schedule delivery and my only dates I can select is 2/2-2/4 which I can't pick up during those day/time.

I haven't applied to financing yet... No trade in value offer from Tesla yet either.

I was in the same situation... got the VIN same day that I ordered and my pickup option were given for next 2 days... I called Tesla and was on hold for hours before I was able to talk to a rep... he said they don't like to push the date back but given my situation that I ordered just a day ago, he was able to push it back 3 days after the original scheduled date. So, within that week, I got my credit union to get me a check and sold my car at Carmax and was ready to take delivery.

If you aren't able to do all this, my suggestion will be to get financed through Tesla and then refi (that's only if u can find a better rate for "used" car)... as for trade, Tesla gave me trade in value within a day but I heard they're slow these day... maybe try to sell it at Carmax or other place... u can always decline to take delivery, in which case the rep told me ur car will be given to someone else and u'll be assigned another one (dunno when though)... this might be the risk u may not want to take given of the tax credit and amount of orders and delivery date we've seen on this thread.

Most people that can afford 40-50K can take advantage of the credit

My point still stands Model 3 and Model Y price are closer to Kia than BMW

We are not paying BMW price for our Tesla today
