Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Today i got this text message from Tesla "Hi, it's time to schedule your Model Y delivery! To proceed with delivery, schedule now at tesla.com/schedule/RN*****". I got this after VIN assignment. Please let me know what it means?
I think it means you can get Model Y as soon as you complete English 101.

Is there any where I can buy new Model Y at a dealership for $55,000? I am late to this game and would like to buy one but delivery date for Atlanta is March 2023, which could be end of March. Any help would be great.
just order model Y with basic options and tesla will start giving you accelerated delivery options in a day, be fast to grab before others

you still have a solid chance to get car before march

Could you be a little more specific on your paint issues? I'm still under 100 mi so I'd like to really check it out
Hmm. I am not talking about minor paint scratches, but one place didn't have base paint, and another place where the sheet metal had welding mark. Both places are smaller than coin size, but still disappointing this happened because it was so obvious

Have you ever considered - 37% vs. 50% growth forecast is not an indicator of demand, rather capacity? There is a finite amount of batteries, manufacturing and transportation capacity. 1000 individual things have to scale, and not all of them do.
Are you speculating?

I ordered a day back; not keeping high hopes but willing to forgo that $250 if it doesnt come before March window.

But i am told that if you in California, there's a good chance it will be before March due to a heavy inventory movement to CA..
keep an eye on accelerated delivery options

Teslas are so expensive to repair, insurers are writing them off.

Very interested in Model Y - but see a number of issues cropping as one researches more and more.

I just realized that the EPA estimate is different between custom order and in stock Model Y.

For Model Y long range: custom order is 330 mi range. But in stock one only list 318 mi.

Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks!

Are you?

I work for a US-based company with more annual revenue than Tesla. Even throwing billions at a problem can't magically make supply chain or resource issues magically disappear.

In stock version has the 20" wheel option, which reduces range to 318mi vs. the stock 19" wheels.

One of three scenarios comes to mind:

1. The car was damaged in transit from the factory.
2. It was a manufacturing issue but their QA is poor and missed it.
3. It was a manufacturing issue and it was detected but they didn't have the capacity or the desire to fix it.

My money is on #3. They ship them knowing there are problems but are betting that not all customers will complain.

Thanks! I also saw one in stock Model Y long range AWD for $52,990. But the range list 258 something like that. I hesitate a bit, and it was gone in a couple minute. Do you know why this one is 258 mi range? Thanks!
