Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.
  • Refer to the forum thread for additional deal discussion.

Anyone waiting on today's Tesla Investor Day to see if a new revamped Model Y is coming soon? Just got VIN today and delivery options for next week, but waiting to see what is announced today before scheduling.

I just received my Vin number yesterday afternoon at 3 PM and then we got a call from the Tesla dealer this morning saying we could pick it up starting today. I've had this car on order since January 19. Do you think this was possibly a rejection by someone else that the Vin number was assigned and then pick up the following day?
rejection or cancellation or unable to finance - many reasons possible. You can inspect and decide.

According to rumors, the revamp of the Model Y (codenamed Project Juniper) isn't scheduled to begin production of the new Model Y until October 2024. So you might have a long wait on the revamp, and the price might be higher.

I'm waiting on the investors day, but think the main announcements will be a new lower end model ($30k-$40k price range), and possibly more information around the Cybertruck. Not really expecting much on the Model Y. And announcements about new plants opening (Mexico). But nobody know for sure until the investor day kicks off this afternoon.

I called, spoke to someone, but couldn't get hold of the loan processor. That "someone" told me they're not extending the rate for anyone. It took them a month to approve my membership despite me sending any paperwork they asked for in a timely fashion. Still waiting for the VIN from Tesla.
They cancelled my app despite me uploading all the required documents and getting the membership application approved prior to the deadline. Seems like they're sitting on a bunch of applications and canceling them to not honor the 2.99%. I've literally called every week requesting a follow up. Got the same boilerplate response saying the loan processor will be in touch.

240v Nema 14-50 outlet install right behind or next to your circuit breaker panel for $270 includes materials, parts, and labor. I have installed quite a few for Slickdealers lately because of this excellent deal. In southern California counties.
I just PM to you today

For Tower FCU, the conditional approval email says no later than 30 days from 2/1/2023 (3/3/2023). I just checked the online approval letter and it says no later than 2/27/2023. Which date should I go by? I just got my VIN and am hoping to use TFCU.
Talk with Tower FCU that you now have the VIN and can provide the documents to finalize the loan and ask them if they will honor the rate. You are already cutting it close so you don't have any time to wait.

Finally got a email from GCFCU after the missed phone and after me calling last week. Was told they tried calling me and to upload my drivers license which I did when I applied for the loan.

Looks like there is no pullback update from IRS on $7.5K tax credit. That's good new.

They must have known they can't handle all those applications in time, yet they kept taking applications with a false promise that they'll have the loan ready in time knowing they are making money on the $35 donations.

YMMV but they raised rates before they got around to opening my account. I requested if there was no way to still get the 2.99% loan to please cancel my account creation and refund my deposit and they refunded my $35 donation as well.
