Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

I got VIN number for my MYLR, which has delivery dated March 21-28.
I'd like to revise the purchase order to use a car loan from Sea Air FCU (instead of cash when first I placed the order). I have to have the revised purchase order for the SAFCU to process the car loan.

I've tried to call Tesla CS#: 888-518-5752 couple times and left messages since couldn't reach a human contact. I also emailed to [email protected] but have not heard any thing back for a weeks already.

Seems like Tesla customer service is non-existing. Does anyone know how to contact Tesla please please tell me? TIA
Just update in the app and it will generate new one. It's better to text

Do any of you have experience with scheduling for delivery when scheduling date shown in the app doesn't work for you? I tried to schedule via the app and it gives only two days option to pick up both of them fall in week day and are not suitable as I am working. I tried calling the local store and held the phone for 1.5 hours (waiting) then hung up! Any experience scheduling on date/times that worked for you? Any particular number to call instead of the local delivery showroom number? Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Texting worked for me. I got my VIN on Friday 2/3, car delivered at SC on 2/4 but SC closed on Sunday/Monday. Tesla app showed Tues/Wed/Thurs as available appts. Successfully via text got Tesla to change appt to Saturday 2/11.

You can do multiple times revise In Tesla App financing section. You change to self arranged loan, put the credit union name and details and total amount. Later go to tesla.com with your owner account you can pull the vehicle purchase argeement. I did it for multiple times changing the amount after my pick scheduled on 22nd March

Some suggested me for Texting and it worked a lot. They are quick in text responses

td;dr: Might have to forfeit current VIN. Anyone have insight on VIN reassignment timeline? Will I be placed at the end of the queue (April-June delivery) or will I be reassigned the next VIN that matches my configuration?

Context: EDD was between 3/19-3/25. I got a text yesterday, 3/13, evening saying that the car is ready and prompting me to arrange pickup. Got another text this morning saying that if I don't schedule pickup by tomorrow the VIN is being reassigned. I'm away at the moment and can't make their 3-day window. Local store rep isn't willing to put a hold on it or even honor the EDD window I had planned around.

I'm pretty annoyed about the situation. Looks like I'm going to lose this VIN, potentially lose out on the tax credit, and potentially lose out on the low interest rate financing I had secured. They should at least respect the EDD...

A friend of mine just placed a new order and got a message asking him to complete the initial tasks in the Tesla app. When he installed the app and clicked on the link asking him to complete the initial tasks through the Tesla app, the Tesla app opens but it doesn't initiate the steps to be completed. He tried multiple times but it is not happening within the app. Is there something missing? What can be done to fix this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Text Tesla and tell them of your situation. I've read that some were able to push out by a week. I was able to push out for 2 days.

Tesla local folks mentioned that you could compete all the paperwork now and designate a friend to pick up when it is scheduled for pickup. But looks like you can't even do that being away. Good luck.

you can submit trade-in offer again.
you don't have to complete Insurance details until your VIN and delivery date is confirmed.
I discovered something today. Tesla gives a higher estimate when youre in incognito mode and not signed in vs signed in.
My original offer was for 23k. I did an estimate through teslas website and they quoted 23-25k back at the beginning of Feb. I got an official offer for 23k once my order was placed.
My offer expired on 3/13 so I did estimate through their site today. This time I wasnt signed in. I was quoted 26-29k. It made sense since used car prices went up since Feb.
I signed in and redid the estimate, this time only 23-25k. I thought for sure it was a mistake. I redid the estimates twice using incognito mode and signed in. Incognito mode always gave 26-29k. Nice know Tesla low balls you once they have your deposit.
Im still waiting for the actual offer to come through the app. Hoping they dont F me even further.

Currently within 3 days you do not pick they are re-selling back at the store. Tesla wants every Model Y asset to be out from the parking lot and complete the sale

I got MYLR transferred from Ohio to Jacksonville after seeing Ohio had the order I put in showing available that havnt been delivered yet . So they assigned a VIN for me a week and half ago to be sent to JAX instead of Ohio.
2 days ago they scheduled me for delivery on March 21-22. The next day my VIN was deleted. Called the dealership and they said since I'm registering car in GA (I'm from ATL), I can't pick up in Jacksonville bc cross state.

They put me on a priority list and had me transferred to ATL dealership now. Shows a new EDD of March 18-25. But I don't think that will come true with no VIN assigned yet.

I have yet to hear from Tesla or who is my advisor now. Texting and call no response. I'm wondering why they cleared me to have car transferred to JAX, assigned a VIN assigned a ViN, then a pick up date with no problem. then 2 days later they cancelled. That's messed up.

Anybody else in this boat and what did you do?
