Deal Details
Tesla has dropped the base price of the Tesla Model Y from $65,990 down to $52,990. This price reduction means the Model Y now qualifies for the $7,500 Federal Tax Credit (details here).

Thanks to Community Member MurraytheDemonSkull for finding this deal.

Additionally, the base prices of all Tesla vehicles have been reduced. The base Model 3 is now $43,990, which is $3,000 lower than before. The Model 3 Performance is now $53,990, which is $9,000 lower than before, and now qualifies for the tax credit.

Editor's Notes

Written by RazorConcepts
  • This is $13,000 lower (19% savings) than the previous base price.
  • Factoring in the tax credit, the price of the Model Y today is $20,000 less than one purchased in December 2022.
  • To qualify for the federal tax credit, one must not exceed the following adjusted gross income limits:
    • $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
    • $225,000 for heads of households
    • $150,000 for all other filers
  • The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

Order 1/25
EDD 3/25-3/31

Ideally when should I receive VIN?
I received my VIN today 3/18 with updated EDD: 4/1-4/8. Now I hope IRS delay their guidelines.

I've heard vehicles are assigned 2 weeks before delivery date. So technically soon based on the date. But there are so many variations, and the most likely scenario is your order will be pushed to prioritize higher margin orders.
I think i already got pushed out on Mar7 and maybe this time again

Negative when they assign you a VIN it can be as soon as that same week.

It can also be the next day. Or they can re-assign a VIN and push it out longer. Like I said, it varies.

The best thing to do is call the SA and ask them where the vehicle is. I had a vehicle assigned and it was going take 10 days to be delivered from CA. Unfortunately, I dealt with an incompetent SA who changed my config when I asked a question and released the vehicle…So I am back to in the queue…while that person who got my vehicle is probably a happy camper who barely has to wait.

I'm talking about needing to take delivery. It may say EDD is in 2 weeks but when u actually schedule the delivery u will see that the dates do not go out 2 weeks.

For anyone who has recently taken delivery of a Model Y, if you're noticing a lot of interior noise, I'd encourage you to make an appointment at your closest Tesla service location. I took ours in today and it's significantly better (not perfect) after the adjustments, and it was fully covered. I'm disappointed we had to do this on a brand new vehicle, but I'm happy to know we won't have to live with that level of interior noise for the life of the vehicle.
Did you setup the appointment through Tesla App? And how long was the repair?

OMG. Insurance companies treat Tesla Owner as rich customer and I reached out to every Insurance company and their quote is 1200 six
month and 2400 for 12 month which is lowest with my current insurance. owing Tesla seems like FOMO(fear of missing out) and MOMO(Momemtum based crowd). I hardly pay 1200 per years for my two current auto. Long term average and media income consumer will sure not able to afford it

I had the same experience when trying to get auto insurance quotes but they claim it is because Tesla auto repairs are "pricier" and just in general auto insurance companies have been asking to raise rates to keep up with the auto body repair rates for all cars.

Do you know what adjustments they made?
Not 100% sure, but I know they did something with adjusting door panels and maybe even some lining. It's still not perfect, and it's still a bit noisier than our old Model 3, but it's much better and at least I don't have to crank up the radio to ear damaging decibels to drown out the interior noise.

Yup, scheduled it right through the app about 20 minutes after we took delivery. It was a lengthy repair job, I dropped it off at 11:00am and I think it was close to 4 when I left. How much of that time was spent working on our vehicle versus it waiting in the service queue I couldn't say.

When you click on "manage" from Tesla app and log in on the website, it provides details regarding your order and if you expand "more information" below, it will show all charges including destination fee, taxes, and other fees showing total final cost and amount financed as well as down payment amount there.
