Get $300 with a new checking account and another $200 with a new savings account with qualifying activities. Plus, get an extra $400 bonus when you open both accounts at the same time. TOTAL $900.

Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer is not available to existing Chase savings customers. Both offers are not available to those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years. You can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account. Coupon is good for one-time use.

To receive the checking bonus:
1) Open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval;

AND 2) Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of coupon enrollment. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Zelle®) are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account. After you have completed all the above checking requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the savings bonus:
1) Open a new Chase SavingsSM account, which is subject to approval;

2) Deposit a total of $15,000 or more in new money into the new savings account within 30 days of coupon enrollment;

AND 3) Maintain at least a $15,000 balance for 90 days from the coupon enrollment. The new money cannot be funds held by you at Chase or its affiliates. After you have completed all the above savings requirements, we'll deposit the bonus in your new account within 15 days.

To receive the extra bonus:
You must open the checking and savings account at the same time and complete all requirements above for BOTH the checking bonus and savings bonus. After you have completed all requirements, we will deposit the remaining bonus due in your new account within 15 days.

To receive any of the above bonuses, the enrolled account must not be closed or restricted at the time of payout. Bonuses are considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT (or Form 1042-S, if applicable).

Early Account Termination Fee
If you close either account within 6 months of account opening, you will forfeit the bonus.
23% return on investment, not bad at all.

$900 / $15,500 = 0.058

0.058 * 4 quarters = 23%
lol what? You're getting $900 for 90 days with $15,000. You need to redo your math.

So absurd of Chase. They just informed me that I cannot do any inbound transfer in Savings from External account for atleast 6 months. Only way to deposit it personally or through a check in branch. Seems like they are still living in 90's
I instant linked (added) my other online bank and initiated a transfer on Chase website without issue.

EDIT: After 30 mins, received a call saying they declined my ACH transfer. So, I'm in the same boat as you. I'll just write a paper check and go to a branch.

Damn that's annoying, the teller deposited my check into my checking account even when I asked for it to be deposited into my savings. :\

You are screwed man. Transfer from checking to savings doesn't count. So you need to directly deposit to savings

Crazy!

Good thing I did exactly that just in case, but their shitty business practices ain't earning me as a loyal customer. In fact, I left them over a decade ago, and I come back to find they are way worse. I miss Washington Mutual Bank.

Initiate the transfer from an external bank into your savings. That's what I did.

I don't have $15k laying around but can someone help me with the math?

If I take out a $15,000 loan and deposit that into this account and open up a checking account what is the maximum interest rate of the loan so that I still make money?

Thanks in advance.
You're talking about getting a little over 6% cash back for the $15,000. It wouldn't be worth it.

This is incorrect. The money has to be deposited directly to Savings account from an external account. Transfer from checking to savings is not considered as "new" money

adding external account wont work either. they wl flag it and reject it for "fraud" or "suspicious " reasons. i tried it twice, one for $7k and second time for $5 but both times was flag, rejected, and second time they locked my account. only feasable option this time is to deposit a physical check, do a wire transfer, send money from external acct (ofcourse daily limits apply, usually less than $5k)
according to my wife who has managed a chase branch for 7 years, you are wrong. system calculates new money as any money new to the bank, regardless if it 'passes' through a checking account. but make it harder for yourself if you must.

Update on the deposit situation. I called up Chase support and they also echoed the same advice that the $15,000 has to be deposited directly into the Savings account but today I checked the mobile app and looks like a deposit into Checking and transferring that into Savings still meets the criteria. Very frustrating because I've already transferred the money out of my account. Need to transfer it back again...
because you are getting information from entry level employees via phone support. the systems are smart enough to count new money even if it passes through a checking account. it just cant be money sitting in the checking account for months.

ex. you get paid from employer 5k into your checking account, transfer 5k to savings, its NEW money.

you had 8k sitting in your checking account for months, open a new savings account and transfer 5k from checking to savings, it is NOT new money.

Transfer it to your savings account online and check back on your promo in a few days. Report back here what you see.

I have a question regarding direct deposit to my newly opened account - does it require certain amout of money coming from direct deposit, I can set up my company's direct deposit to deposit a percentage or fix amount of my salary to more than several accounts. some one please advise the amount required?

$1 will work. Only need to do more when you use the option to avoid monthly fee.

Wow good thing Discover doesn't charge a fee sending money. I had them send it instead of Chase trying to pull it.

I transferred the $15K via ACH into checking and then transferred to savings. Tracking is showing the $15K as complete.

I transferred 15k a few weeks ago. In the account bonus status area... It shows "deposit $15,000 by 2/17" with a green open circle. Does that mean they recognize I completed this step or it's still pending and it needs to be a green circle with a check mark for this step to be recognized as completed? I would assume this step should have been recognized as completed the moment I made the deposit.

I deposited check for $15K and it is in pending status and will be cleared only by 2/8. Once check is cleared only then we will see blue tick i believe.
