- Click "Open an account" under "Get $300 Chase Total Checking" on the promotion page to open a new Chase Total Checking account, which is subject to approval
- Have your direct deposit made to this account within 90 days of coupon enrollment.
- Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments (such as Zelle) are not considered a direct deposit. Micro-deposits do not qualify as a direct deposit for the bonus. Micro-deposits are small deposits, typically less than $1, that are sent to your account to verify it is the correct account.

Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer is not available to existing Chase savings customers. Both offers are not available to those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance within the last 3 years. You can receive only one new checking and one new savings account opening related bonus every two years from the last coupon enrollment date and only one bonus per account. Coupon is good for one-time use.
To receive the checking bonus:

Someone mentioned we need to keep $5000 in there for 6 month to avoid a early termination fee/clawback. I still can't seem to find any documentation on that, if anyone can provide a link or source that'd be much appreciated.

I want to eventually close savings account and keep the checking account open with $1000 in it

You can keep minimums to avoid monthly fees (300$ savings /1500$ or 500$ direct deposit for checking). Rest you can move after the bonus. 6 month is safe side to keep the accounts open before closing as some says they may claw back the bonus.
How did you contact them? It is my 93rd days since the 15K deposit posted. Bonus tracker showing "offer expired". Hope that it is just some processing delay and won't need to fight hard for bonuses :-)
