While this may currently be the best price, I feel like there was a time these were heavily discounted at various outlets including Costco and Sam's Club as well. I suppose we can chalk it up to inflation, but pretty pricey. Honestly, aside from the composting component, making a raised garden bed is extreme easy with some wood from HD.

Some of you all may be really good at hobbies / passions but I often go through phases with gardening being one of them so my raised beds eventually got neglected lol. So having a homemade one made it easy to break down and burn the wood.

Funny / but probably true if you have slugs problem: "The compost basket sounds like a great idea, but the truth is it's a really big problem. It stinks and attracts flies during the day, and worst of all, tons of slugs at night. If you go out with a flashlight after it is dark, especially if there is moisture in the air, slugs are already all over the white PVC walls on their way into the garden you worked so hard to get to started. To add insult to injury, the slugs also crawl into the hollow PVC posts where they sleep during the day. You can watch them pushing the post caps up and crawling out of their built in garden bedrooms after the sun goes down."
Some find it to be relaxing to do some gardening, for the issues you noted, just grow and donate the vegetables to the homeless. You get the relaxation from gardening and the satisfaction in helping out your homeless community. It's a win-win situation and turning a negative into a positive.
What? the whole point of a raised bed is to NOT cross-contam with whatever the farks going on with your dirt.

Newbie gardener looking for a good Compost bin deal. Please share.
I've seen plenty of YouTubes that explain composting using a pallet and some welded wire fencing. Can get fancy and add air tubes in the center…

how long do you think the vinyl will last? i have wood and metal beds that are rotting
Well they have a 20 year warranty so I'm hoping they get me through the eventual SHTF… I'm prepared to add some extra bracing as the dirt pushes out on the vinyl

Open composting bin is an attraction for flies. I you still want to use use it, at least add some worms and chop everything to small pieces. I would recommend a compost bin/worm bin which has protections from flies.

False, that is not in any way, shape or form the whole point or even a main point of a raised garden bed.

This is not a slickdeal at all. It has been this same price at Costco for at least 6 months. Sure, it's cheaper than everywhere else, but it's the normal price.

I have this bed and the 4x4 kit. I use them for whelping boxes and puppy play areas. They are great for that.

I built my own 8'x12'x16" raised U-shaped garden bed after contemplating about getting pre-made ones like this versus DIY. Just to share, it costs me about $300 to get all the cedar wood planks and nails from Home Depot. It was fun building it from scratch but only do that if you have the time and tools already. Otherwise, this is a great price.

Got three of the smaller ones back in 2016 and they border our patio. Running household compost out to these is so easy. Every spring when we turn over the soil with hundreds of worms, I say "million dollar soil." We've loved these.

As we are on slickdeals, financially such Garden beds do not makes sense to grow vegetables in north-east backyard. Additionally, it may not be healthy or organic, as garden beds are generally in backyard, where lawn fertilizer and weed killers will be sprayed, which will leech into vegetables.
Then don't spray fertilizer and weed killers. I have this for more than an year no issues in Boston

I've been following this item for a few months now; and this has been at this price for awhile. (Since Oct i think) I was going to bite but wait closer to spring for it since this seems to be the normal Costco price.

Bought three sets of these to make two beds that are 20'x4'. Can't beat the price per square foot of gardening IMO

That is a nice deal. I just have trouble with anything made of PVC with squirrels in my yard.

That is a crazy long warranty for this type of item. I put anything made of PVC in my yard and the squirrels just chew it up. I can't imagine that a warranty would protect against that?
