Any feedback on the reliability of Menard's MIRs?
Many companies have a mediocre (at best) reputation in fulfilling the rebate; it's been 2 decades since I was last shopping at Menard's.

Edit: oh. I see the rebate is store credit. Higher chance they'll fulfill the rebate, but less valuable to those non-local to a Menard's.

I know this is twice the price, but the deal looks dead now and for anyone wanting to heat a garage this is a way better option.

Here is a Lowes if you want to read reviews since Menards removed their short lived reviews.

Convection heaters heat the air, so heat will be more towards the ceiling. Radiant heaters are better for a garage, as you can direct it to where you want it. Have tried both, hence talking from experience.

Mail-in rebates are so 1990's. These companies really need to just offer the full sale price without rebates where they hope you'll forget to mail it in on time game.

Neither is a radiant heater. Also radiant heaters use infrared radiation to transfer heat directly to the people, so you have to be in close proximity. It is the single worst option for heating a garage. I don't think you know what you're talking about on this topic.

Not so much about forgetting to mail it, but getting you back into the store to spend it.
Why give you the full sale price when you're already in the store, when I can get you back in the store again?

There are three modes of heat transfer convection, conduction and radiation. This heater is using predominantly convection to transfer heat to its surrounding. Radiative heater radiate heat like the sun, but if left in a cold garage they to will also start a convection current.

I have always had very good luck with Menards rebates, they have a very easy to use tracking method for the rebates and I've never had any issues.
