whats the appeal of this device in comparison with Moto g stylus 5G 2022 and one plus Nord N20. I know those devices are no longer free but compared to those devices, this feels like a downgrade in terms of RAM and storage,

For those who care, this phone doesn't have wireless charging.

I barely caught that before ordering one. I made the erroneous assumption that practically any phone new enough to support 5G would also support wireless charging.

Thanks and repped. Now to figure out if this particular phone is an upgrade from my ancient S9 🤔.

Not even the mid range A53 soon to be A54 has wireless. Otherwise, I would probably be jumping on one of those. I'm hoping Google-Fi will have the new S23 come next month (or soon after) for the same or near same terms as they have for the S22. These do have wireless but are Flagship so $$$$$$

Is it just me or there's no "Lift to wake" function anymore in the motions and gestures setting?
I have that function in my A32 5G...

A couple of questions:

1) how hard is it to cancel the $40 monthly fee? (I.E. - do you have to spend 20 minutes trying to work with uncooperative customer service agents?)

2) when unlocked after 6 months, what type of unlocking do you get, specifically? Is it unlocked to use on any GSM carrier?

Thanks!

Same question as never dealt with Metro by Tmobile before. Can we do it all online? I assume with it being prepaid, we just don't pay for the next month by selecting something online on our account?

No need to cancel or deal with anything.
It's prepaid, just don't pay , the service will end on its own.
It can be used with att and tmobile and all GSM services mostly once unlocked, just check the bands on the list

Somehow it's not letting me checkout now. I went back and tried again, now the only option I have is to "find a store." No ability to add to cart now (I was able to do it the first time but "transaction failed" when trying to check out). Anyone else experiencing the same?
I've tried about 10 times today and keep getting "Sorry, we are currently experiencing technical issues-please try again."

First impressions: looks like any not absolutely awful budget phone of the past years.
It works, its not absolutely slow, the camera sucks for anything more than basic use, quite slippery, perfectly usable. Super light. Screen is quite bright. All in all usable.
Bloatware seems to be ok: mostly Samsung stuff and a bunch of microsoft products (office, outlook, linkedin) and spotify.
Wish it had the other color like they seemly got in India.
Quality of the built reminds me of maybe some of the cheap Nokia Lumia series. Squared design.
All in all looks like a ok budget phone at a great price if it unlocks by the end of the 6 months.

Can T-Mobile customers get in on this?
Sure. The phone won't work for you like it won't work on AT&T or another carrier until unlocked but you can buy it just like anyone else can buy it as this has nothing to do with your T-Mobile account.

How many phones can you buy per account?
A month ago when the Moto G Stylus was offered for free, I placed three separate orders back-to-back and got all three as a new customer. Attempt to buy as many as you want and if they ship to you, great. If not, you've lost nothing.

You would need a sim card from another carrier. But don't bother checking as it has already been confirmed to be locked in this thread. If these phones somehow came unlocked, it would be all over this thread.

Am I signing up for a monthly fee when I activate this phone? It certainly seems so - it says "Total due monthly: $40".....

I'm a little reluctant to finish purchasing this, because it SOUNDS like they are attaching a monthly fee of $40 to the credit card I pay with.....
