Pull all the bits out with pliers. Then use a screwdriver to take the entire row out of the case. On the backside of the row you'll see tabs that hold the bits in place. Carefully pry the tabs out (not too much or it won't hold the bits). Test fit all the slots before putting everything back

Or wait for the new cases to be released

Those have to be cooked. I absolutely hate these bits and this set.

Leaving terrible case and bit storage aside, the bits themselves are bad. They're both soft and subject to instant rusting. I find myself grabbing the #2 Phillips from my **15 year old** Ridgid impact set if I am concerned about rounding out a bit. I'm talking about a single bit I've used for 15 years that has some wear... It still works better than the 20 duplicate brand new bits out of this set. I had a large torx bit twist with low torque and no impact applied. The small ones are absolute trash.
I'm not a contractor but experienced and I can say with certainty these are not worth buying over even a cheap black, impact set.
Ive had these in the bottom of my toolbox since I bought them when they were posted here a while back. Zero rust issues. I do agree that they are terrible to get out of the case. As for durability, they last plenty long. I don't think I've broken one yet. I'm a diesel tech for city transit buses.

I hope they work for you - who knows. My batch was from about 13 months ago. Here's an example that shocked me. You know those trim screws that cut but are so thin they provide no resistance? They're for trim afterall. One of THOSE sheared the small torx bit clean off. I was shocked so much I assume that's how they named them.

I have this set. It's stood up to some abuse. Otherwise it's fine for the price. Not at MSRP but at the sale price.

Can anyone speak to the carabiner -- is it magnetic retention or physical hold - is it a malleable rubber or a hard plastic?

I was looking at a Stealthmounts keychain to hang off my bag, but this holds more bits.
It's physical hold. I bought this for Christmas

Forgot to answer your other question. It's made of same hard plastic as the power tools.
