These are the older style cases, that removing the bits is a PITA.
They have since updated these cases with new bit holder rows that are much easier to use/get the bits out now. the new style cases are also resized, to now fit into the Milwaukee packout organizers.
This case will not fit (snuggly) into a packout case and the bits are a pain to get out.

Echo similar comments here that the bits are nearly fused to the case. Pliers really help protect your knuckles.

I've bought this set earlier. Though true about hard to pull those bits out (I often use pliers), what I like (and probably some folks don't realize) is that you can un-snap and re-organize the holders. Moreover, you don't have to fold the short bits and can keep them upright.

I think I ended up having 5 of them with short bits on the left side and two with long bits on the right, with carabiner holder in between.

Yea you can really jack your fingers up trying to get one out at first. Some times I have to grab pliers to get them out

The best to get them out is to jam a screwdriver or any bit at the bottom and wedge it out. This also means to always keep a bit on the tool.

Am I correctly seeing that this set comes with an organized case of bits…and a tiny little bin with a bunch more just tossed in there?

Yes, the little bin is full of replacements for the most used, worn out, broken, or lost bits.
