Amazon [amazon.com] has the Anker 575 USB-C Docking Station on sale for $149.99

Specs: 85W laptop-charging USB-C port, an 18W Power Delivery USB-C port, a USB-C data port, 3 USB-A ports, 2 HDMI ports, a DisplayPort, an Ethernet port, SD/microSD card slots, a 3.5 mm AUX port, and a DC input.

Lowest price I've seen so far on this, and it made me pull the trigger as I've been looking for a good docking station for a multi-monitor setup.

Looks a bit too clunky to be easily portable, but good desk top dock

Seems overpriced. At that price and bulk, I'd expect at least 3 10Gbps USB-C ports.

I want to use my Macbook with dual separate monitors, and this includes two HDMI ports. But the pictures on Amazon show no support for multi-stream transport) (MST) so that both monitors would show either a mirror of the laptop screen or the same extended desktop.

This is a great deal. It should be a front page deal.

Q4: Is this dock compatible with computers that have a Thunderbolt 3 port?

A: Yes, however, it can only deliver a maximum bandwidth of 10Gbps, so it cannot not reach the maximum bandwidth of Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps).

So it's not even TB3. I like Anker but this is a glorified port extender that's $50 or so every other week.

Calm down. I'm exaggerating. But not a lot Wink

Amazon reviews say there are some issues with it breaking down in a year or so. So I'm hesitant to buy it at $150

I want a dock with 2x 4k @ 144Hz (DisplayPort or HDMI2.1). Any ideas? For macbook 14 m1 pro (it supports 2 external monitors). Currently using 2x USBC to DP cables.

Bought this for around $100 warehouse deal during the pandemic for both my work Surface and personal MacBook...it works for what I need with 2 monitors and will hopefully be enough for the new Mac Mini on the way...I'd say for $150, the UGreen or other "desk docs" might be better value...

This is what I bought a couple years ago to do what I think you want. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NJ8CWCS

I have 2 screens and laptop all showing different info.

overprice Anker products as always. This one is definitely top 5 for its insane MSRP and sale price.

IMO if my laptop/pc doesn't have Thunderbolt I wouldn't pay more than $20-$30 for the USB-C hubs littered on Amazon. You're limited to USB 3.1 for 2 of the USB-C lanes and the other 2 lanes for DP alt mode which cuts down on your display bandwidth. So your 2-3x display ports, multiple USB ports, ethernet, etc aren't operating at full speed anyway for "dock" purposes. Why spend > $100.

I'm not an expert but based on the bandwidth requirement for 4K@144hz you're not going to get 2 displays on a single TB port. You'll probably have to stick with having your 2nd display on your 2nd port.
