Decent discount 8.56%
However, if you use Allstate Rewards you can get 10% off on all Carnival Gift Cards - you do not have to have Allstate insurance to sign up for the program.
https://www.allstate.com/auto-ins...ce-rewards
You can use multiple gift cards with your cruise, but Carnival only takes 9 cards at a time. So if you pay off the bill over several months you can basically use an unlimited number of gift cards.

Carnival also offers a shareholder room credit:
https://www.carnivalcorp.com/stat...4647e6129f
Hold 100 shares of Carnival three weeks prior to your travel (retirement & ira accounts do count) and fill out the form for a room credit. With Carnival trading at $10.80, 100 shares would cost you $1080 and you could get a $100 credit for a 7-13 day cruise - that is another 10% discount.

Also don't forget that if you sign up for a Carnival Credit Card you can get $200 in cruise credit see details.
https://www.carnival.com/carnival-mastercard
The Carnival Credit Card will also give you 10% discount on shore excursions purchased through Carnival.

Carnival also offers price protection on certain fares that will offer you a cruise credit if the price of the cruise goes down.

Every little bit helps - but one should be saving at least 10% on every Carnival Cruise.

We are booked on Carnival for June 2023. Applause

I've been getting 10% off through AARP Rewards. Carnival, Princess, Holland America, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean. $100 and $500 denominations.

To continue the trend of where to get a full 10% discount:

Citi easy deals (simplicity and diamond preferred cards) also offer 10% on carnival cards $100, $500, and $1000 denominations all year round.

Carnival has the worst BBB rating. Took a cruise last year and despite all of our COVID documentation, they refused to let us debark in the Bahamas. Imagine taking a flight and not being allowed to visit the destination. Also, carnival refused to make any amends. Go with anyone else.

Just you or the entire ship? I went twice last year and was able to debark both times without issue.

Don't forget to link a high limit credit card as your Sail and Sign. You can go to any slot machine and move money from your credit card to your casino bank and cash out anytime for free credit card points. They count it as entertainment expenses and not cash advanced.

Just don't do it as the cash out place or the ATM. Do it directly on any of the regular slot machines.

I easily made $450 ($15k times 3x the points for travel card) and used those points to book another trip in April.

Hold up! This is genius. Did you even play much? Or you just moved the money, cashed out, and deposited the cash back just to get the points? Can you do this to play table games as well?

That shareholder bonus isn't as great as it sounds. If you book any kind of discounted rate at all, they'll deny giving you the onboard credit. It's pretty awful and I've had arguments with them about it many times. They won't budge. I rarely sail on actual Carnival ships anyhow.

It only works on slots but you can cash out part of it at the window and play table games.
I'm very frugal and only played like 80 cents a spin twice each time I added to the bank. It's 5k max per day so on the 3rd day midnight I did my last bank and then cashed out. Right after I left the cruise I went to the bank and deposited it into my checking account and paid it back the next day. If you're responsible it's an easy points maker.

Can I use my onboard account (Sail & Sign card) to get funds in the casino?
Yes, there is no charge at the slot machines for using your onboard account card to access funds. For any transactions done at a table game or the Casino Cashier's Desk, there is a small service fee of 3% each transaction. You can charge on your Sail & Sign card to play in the casino as follows:

Non-event cruises: $5,000 USD per day
Invite-only cruises (Premier / Ultra / Premier Plus / Getaway / Tournaments): $7,500 USD per day
Elite cruises: $10,000 USD per day
