This is a general discussion about coupons . com printed coupons.

So I'm wondering, is anybody else having issues with stores accepting coupons dot com IPs?

My reason for asking this is an issue started popping up regarding their coupons. A minute ago, I printed 2 different brand coupons from there. Tried to use them at one store & the register refused to take it. This is 1 of my fav stores & the shift said the register said that the first coupon was fraudulent, to hand it back to the customer & don't override the coupon. This came from scanning the actual bar code on the coupon. It also tells the cashier how to break the news of refusal to the customer. (FYI your beeping coupon may be a fraud alert vs a no matching item. Ask the cashier the message the register is giving if your coupon beeps & report it back here). I saw the screen's message so it stated just that. So tried it in a separate transaction & it said the same thing. I pulled out my phone to let the shift see it's from c dot's site. Took the same coupon to a different store chain & it had been rejected also. Since I print straight from c dot & I do not get coupons from "fairies" ,the coupon is definitely the issue.

Ok so the second brand coupon said the same thing on a different transaction. Must be the store's register so I kept them both since they can't take it unless the manager approves who wasn't there. Normally I'd think it's just the store's system until something happened at yet another store chain.

Third chain store sometime later down the road another issue in general. They are having customer IP issues & are refusing to accept any IPs thinking they are fraudulent (copied). Never an issue before but now it is. I suspect that it isn't fraudster couponers in this case but bad IPs c dot are issuing even if the register takes the coupon. I know that c dot had some issues as coupons "begin to print" aka "sending to your printer" a little ways back. They either "sent to your printer" blank or said it printed already. But upon them fixing that issue, they permitted the user to print the coupons that didn't actually print. But once a store sends to redeem, if a coupon is deemed bad, the store is alerted to the issue via payment refusal. So I'm thinking c dot doesn't realize they're issuing some bad IPs. So the couponer looks like they are committing fraud even though they aren't.

I begin reading about a separate chain (other than those above) from other couponers. One person stated her store refused IPs too & another person the same thing at a different store chain. And these are legit couponers having IP issues. Some kind of way, there are bad IPs being issued through their site. I think the recent spike in refusal of IPs are the bad codes c dot are producing & it boils down to bad Veri-fi scan dot codes. Since my stores know me, they know my coupons are legit. But this is an issue that needs to be addressed. Since the Veri-fi code tells the cashier the coupon is legit, the IPs should not kick back as bad. So if the clearinghouses "Veri-fi" the codes & they come up as bad, then they refuse payments to the store. This could be a new headache for couponers that aren't doing anything illegal. But you can't explain to a store if they aren't getting paid for the IPs that you use.

One of my Walgreen's stores has stopped taking any IPs. The manager came up to the register and told me that any IP is really a fraudulent copy. End of case for her. She wouldn't listen to anything I had to say about codes, veri-fi, etc. Went across town with my two IPs. They scanned perfectly. That store's manager happened to be cashiering and couldn't believe my story. So it wasn't the register in this case, it was the manager that wouldn't accept the coupons.
But I do agree that it's getting harder to use coupons. Some of the cash register explanations that pop up at my Kroger affiliate are very strange and often really don't apply to the coupon that is being used. Plus, once in awhile when a coupon is scanned and beeps, it really doesn't take it. You have to watch everything like a hawk.

I've read that some coupons are being rejected at some stores but not others so it may be something to do with register programming. I have personally experienced this is the past (coupons wouldnt scan acceptable at RA but would at CVS for example) but havent been couponing with IPs enough that I have run into this lately. It's been awhile so ICR what the reason was that the coupons were a problem, or if i even knew at the time.

I have had this too. Someone posted links to Kellogg's coupons the other day. I printed them, went to CVS where they would not scan, but were manually entered. At Stop & Shop, they scanned fine.

Coupons.com

Not every one but more than I would expect.
At least at target I believe it's part of that whole approved coupon database thing from CIC

That doesn't surprise me that bud is involved. he's anti-coupons (for those that do not know him). And it doesn't matter to him that you are a legit couponer. I learned about him from another couponer after I inquired about a strange guy trying to get me to give him information about coupon sources on this forum one day. he sent me a PM asking questions. Then some person pretending to be a reporter claimed to want to interview me about my shopping habits. If you can't ask me on the forum & you got a new name especially, I can't be bothered. I also think he has old alias' usernames here too, in his war on coupons, so user beware.

Coupons are starting to have cic on them so he's convinced businesses to buy into his bs. But I'm sure it's going to cost them in the long run. If they start accusing people of coupon fraud & especially because of bud aka cic, they are going to face lawsuits & class actions and rightfully so. The only way to prove your innocence is to fight back.

But I still also see that c dot is giving coupons that aren't scanning at some stores & that may mean others stores think they are fraudulent too.

Something is clearly going on. Another store visit, store cashier think the coupons are copies because they are printed in black & white. But the lead on duty checked and approved them. I think the end of IP acceptance is near.

No issues using a bunch of IPs here today. Easily put in one that wouldn't scan without questions once she saw I had the items.

Rite Aid and BJ's cracking down on IPs that don't scan in my area. I had the correct item, no limitations, and the coupon doesn't scan. They tell me, new policy, if it doesn't scan, we cannot override it.
