I'd be open to replacing my Alienware x17r5 with its mediocre 2hr battery. I'm still a tad bitter about boot camp. I really just want to play classic games, like Age of Empires II DE. Not trying to do Cyberpunk with ray tracing.

I love macs for the simplicity, audio speakers, battery, screen, track pad and polished OS. Touch ID is very convenient and native.

Lots to love between the two. Maybe that's the answer, have both.
I suspect classic games you can run in parallels in windows arm emulating x86 just fine based on the results of people who have done so on m1 Mac mini models

Trying to figure out a "cashback" deal…. Discover and Chase credit cards both offer 5% back at grocery stores right now… Could you buy an Apple gift card at the grocery store, get 5% back, and use it to buy the Mac mini? Not sure if gift cards get the 5% back…
any update if this is feasible?

not having HDMI 2.1 a big issue?
You can do usb-c to DisplayPort, should work on 4k/120hz easily.

The other question I wonder is how cheap the m1 mini is gonna get on clearance too. At $499 for the m2 model it has to be 300-350 to be worth it
Apple would never devalue its product like that. They will just require all retailers return the inventory back

Ram is ram. If there isn't enough ram it uses page file and pushes it to the SSD. These just have good SSDs so the paging is fast.
Apple Silicone architecture != x86. RAM is RAM but different architectures/designs perform differently. Your phone has far less RAM than your desktop/laptop but is probably providing you with great performance.
