No RTSP support on these cameras

So from what I found out from their live stream is it is a "V4" in a way but with simple connections/housing so it's not a true V4 but it's also not a V3. It doesn't come with magnetic base and the base is more limited in range of motion. So from an internal hardware base it's better than V3 but packaging is less than a V3. I guess In a way like an iPhone SE or maybe even an iPad mini??? where its newer hardware but in older housing.
Two cameras = two SD cards
But once the stacking kit comes it's one power cable.
They wanted to go back to being a "low priced camera company". they mentioned there are going to be a lot of different cameras coming out in the future like wide angle, super wide angle, 5x, 7x zoom cameras and other options to add onto this "OG" ecosystem.
The V3 is compatible with other items like spot light, garage door, and other items where as the OG ecosystem won't be.
It will be two series: a higher end series and a lower end series and each will be compatible with their own system. So instead of buying multiple high end cameras for simple areas you can buy cheaper cameras that do one specific job for that one location. like instead of buying two OG cameras and stack them for a wider view, you would just put a V3 pan in that location. and instead of putting a V3 or V3 pan to see down the side of the house you would just put in an OG or OG telephoto to see the entrance gate down the side of the house.
I guess that would be the best way to put it. Each OG camera will do one specific job with a processor and sensor that is better than the V3 so it's not a V3 replacement. Hope this helps
WYZE OG is
- Much Faster when viewing in the app
- Much faster notifications
- Has Bluetooth (future uses) and when setting up no need to aim your phone at the camera.
- Built-in Light
- To me the picture looks clearer sharper than a V3 I set it up next to.
- The top has a slot for a hot shoe where any other camera including a standard OG could be put on the top so you could use two of the standard cameras together just get a y adapter and a 1.5 amp USB for super wide view or you could do it with the telephoto camera but I'll get a stack mine stack two regular ones out.
- The bottom line This is much faster than the V3 much faster and I'm going to replace all my v3s with these and with the pro.
- I've been using wyze cameras since they came out and this loads the fastest and the fastest notifications.
Like I said the OG and the pro are the two best cameras they have.
Glad I bought a Wyze cam. Mounted outside. On Sunday, at 5:30 am, a car pulls up to my driveway and three guys get out. Then, they proceed to check each car at each home on the block for unlocked doors. I live in a townhome development, so this is easier for them as opposed to single homes. Watched them get into at least four cars and one had the keys inside. That car was stolen. They left their car in the middle of the street running with lights on while canvassing the block. Pretty brazen. One of the guys was using a cell phone which was probably a lookout contact somewhere nearby. This went on for over five minutes. I only had notifications set up for my front door. Too many false alerts if I set it for the street or my driveway nearby. When I learned of this the next morning, I reviewed the timeline and saw the whole thing. The camera view covers most of my block. Went to police immediately. They said they never saw surveillance footage this clear at night. Faces are identifiable. Told me they know of them and they have multiple arrest records including armed robbery. I'll be buying more.

Amazing how people leave their doors unlocked and keys in the car
this youtube video might help you. Is the Wyze Cam Free Ride Over? New Cams Require Subscription for Some Features https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqejcLjaYCE
I noticed that the new Wyze cameras that came out recently do not have the same free features as the prior editions did. In this video I'll walk through what features you'll now have to pay extra for.
Still confused about what is no longer free after watching.
Seems worth a try if truly better notification/streaming response time and speaker (the reasons I ditched them for Eufy- but Eufy keeps eating my SD cards)
I've lost 7 or 8 MicroSD cards (Samsung EVO, Sandisk, and some other one) to Wyze cams and have never lost a MicroSD card to my Eufy cams (I have 7 Eufy cams). Eufy is slipping hard with their software, like at present the timeline doesn't work, so you can't scroll through your recordings, but you can manually look at them. I have some other random issues with it too, which were introduced with the most recent version. I miss a lot of recordings for people coming up to my doorbell today, which wasn't near the same issue about 2 years ago when it was brand new. I have a ton of delayed notifications with Eufy, despite an excellent WiFi network. My wired doorbell is 4 feet away from the home base and the home base is wired into my network.
I ended up abandoning my Wyze cams at this point, because none of my v1 cameras worked in their software and my v2 cameras all failed. I only wanted to use a v1 camera temporarily, to watch a cat that we adopted, but not a single one of them would connect while the v2 would... but the V2s all failed quickly with various optics issues. I may give an OG a try, though... Have been intrigued by the last couple cameras they released.
This might have already been said. But they charge shipping for 2 cameras it was $6 :/ so I abandoned my order and they emailed me a $3 coupon code (automatically) so that might be worth it. I put in my paypal info and when it went to the shipping screen i just hit back and then closed the tab. Within a few minutes i had the code. Enjoy!

It depends what is more important to you, the light or the 12 second free recording and access to it on cloud (yes every 5 mins), and if one base it better than the other. Also if you plan. to pay for the plan, or have the unlimited camera plan, then these are better.
Personally I have about 50 cams and other devices across 7 family properties. On my house I pay the sub for 2 of 12 that face front and on my door. The rest are on free cloud and 24/7 recording on SD card. The other cams either don't have much movement, or I can use the every 5 mins as a way to find what I am looking for (car parked, car gone, you look in between on playback...or based on the ones that record on sub).
I have a spotlight on the front and it gets kicked off with passing car lights, I just let it be, but it also sets off the other camera, so I am not sure if there is a great benefit to it if you have nearby cameras and something can set it off. So personally I would keep the V3 with the cloud recording.
I am also unclear as to what happens on these without a sub
Do you or anyone else kno if they will end cam plus lite free subscription? I'm interested in buying v3 with camplus lite, but just thinking what if they cancel the free subscription in few months?
How do you like frigate? I would like to move off blue iris so I can do away with Windows..
Frigate has been great. With everything in docker on Linux, it's been great but expect high cpu usage. The ffmpeg threads consume a lot of cpu and the GPT Lite object detection doesn't help either. Hardware compression and recording on my Lorex NVR is more efficient but its UI is dirt slow and not as pretty or accessible as Frigate. I have 7 RTSP 1080p feeds on frigate with person, cat, dog, mouse detection running with record on motion and it uses 75% CPU of my i7 8700k with governor set to powersave. I enabled nvidia GPU encoding and cpu came down a little but gpu power went up like 40W so not worth it really. Can't beat free and nice to save time with a handy list of thumbnails showing me everyone on property vs scrolling through hours of video. The HomeAssistant integration on MQTT is awesome too. Turn lights on when person detected, sprinklers on dog in lawn (I don't do this but can), push notifications on phone if person after 9pm, etc. you can assign zones for porch, sidewalk, etc so it tells you where some actually was detected. Pretty slick and a good way to burn a weekend playing.

* Are either Wyze Cam OG or Wyze Cam OG Telephoto Cam Plus Lite compatible?
* No, neither camera is compatible with Cam Plus Lite.

Edit - Poster below found these new cameras are not eligible for the Cam Plus Lite sub.
