Cheaper than when I bought these in 2015, they have held up great. Honestly, I need to swap them out to the ones with USB-C now....

True and if the conduit intrudes into the box it can cause fitment issues as well (first hand experience).

There is no such thing as future-proofing these unless you see this as another disposable tech product.

Recepticles normally last, what, at least 30-40 years? You're going to be swapping these out like every 5 years to keep up with the rising amp needs or plug standards. Used to be that USB-A and 2A was sufficient like 5-6 years ago. Now when I see those at someone's house, I reach for my charging brick, which is about the same price as this and way more portable and swappable.

Have a few of these, picked them up from Home Depo last year for $10. They've been great. No issues. Fast charging.

With everything shifting to usb c, you've got an expiration date on these guys, but I figure they'll be good for a few years if not longer.
