Usually these require deep electrical outlet boxes so you'll have to replace those too if yours are too small

Perfect I needed one of these to plug my indoor camera power cord into while still having both outlets. Glad I held out and didn't spend the $20-30 they normally cost

I have one and it produces a very high pitched, albeit quiet hum. I don't hear it unless it's dead silent and I'm by it. That's most switching power supplies these days but ugh

15a receptacle can go on a 20 amp circuit by code .
You do not want to plug in more than 12 amps in said 15A receptacle . Not many things on the inside of your house use more than that at a single point . With exception of space heaters and window air conditioners.

So you use 15a receptacles on 20 amp circuit . U shouldn't be using more than 16 amps total on that 20a circuit anyways and most likely you won't be running more than 12 amps on that specific 15a receptacle anyways .

So no problem using this receptacle on a 20 amp circuit unless you're installing where u plug in a space heater,ac unit or something else that draws high amps
