Got dammit. I just bought the regular 850 officially licensed for ps5 for $199. Kicking myself for not waiting for this. I've been watching m2 ssd's with heatsinks for a while now and this is the exact thing Id recommend for both ps5 and PC, especially at this price. No-brainer if you're in the market

If you guys return a used drive, make sure you completely wipe it. Even if you delete everything, the data can still be recovered.

I just ordered the Samsung 980 EVO Pro from Amazon for the same price a few days ago.. it's not expected to deliver for another ~10 days though

Planning to use this in the PS5.. is one any better than the other?

EDIT: It looks like this ones backordered even further. Is one drive better than the other though?

From a quick Google search it looks like the WD has slightly better read and a bit more significant write speeds

Toms hardware does a really good job with graphs to show you the performance between different nvme

https://www.tomshardware.com/revi...in-black/2

But from all the deals and threads in the past week, everyone seems to be on the same boat that the 850x is best for PS5 and PC

Thanks OP. Ordered 2TB for PS5, gift for my son's birthday. Bought PS5 bundle at AAFES for $539 no tax. SSD is estimated for Feb 17 delivery from Amazon so perfect timing. Will cancel and repurchase if price goes down some more in the next month.

This has been going on sale a lot lately. Hope it keeps dropping, would love to grab one for the next build (whenever the 7700 XT hits, probably).
