China banned MIcron's chip and Micron manufactures for most US brands, so if they cannot sell to China, might have to sell in the US market. Assuming China won't lift the ban for another year, in 3 months we will have tons of top-brand SSDs in the US market.

anyone know if this is the same WD_BLACK 2TB as the "officially licensed for PS5" one at Best Buy for $180? It seems like it is, but the model numbers do differ on the sites.

This is the upgraded version of that. That model is the SN850, this is the SN850X. It reads and writes a little faster. It is also an amazing deal. I bought it for $179 black friday last year.

I wouldn't expect $100 this year. Even for Black Friday it would be pushing it. Last Black Friday was $180, right now it's $150, but I would be floored if it hit $100 even a year from now. Right now is a great deal and it's up to date tech.

people gotta also remember that this is the heatsink version.

Non-heatsink version finally went to $147 and $145 when on special.

Heatsink version was always $20 more expensive.

So, getting the heatsink version for $150 pretty much means that the non-heatsink version will be around $140 or 135 at some point in the coming month or month and a half.

This also means that you're technically getting the sn850x for $130 + $20 for the heatsink....which is a great deal

Bought the 2TB heatsink version from the WD deal a few days ago.

Installed, used Macrium reflect free, cloned from existing 1TB NVME SSD, up and running. Seeing full speed.
I first cloned with the WD Acronis True Image and it would not boot. Instead of figuring out I just switched to Macrium and it booted first try.

It's very fast, and I have more space. Would recommend.

I disagree but I could be wrong. At the rate that we are going, I believe this and 980 pro will be hitting 100 before the year end. I bought the both version of 1TB for 65 and 54 respectively.

Non heatsink btw.

For reference, I bought $160 in Feb.

I love the performance of this drive.

We'll definitely see! I paid $180 last black friday for the same stick. 6 months later and a random sale has it $30 cheaper. Could go either way. The X with a heatsink will keep it above $100 for a while imo. I hope I'm wrong.
