A2 series. I'm thinking of grabbing this as I've been waiting for a 55" oled to go below 1k.

From review site:
To wrap up, if you plan to do at least some viewing in a bright room, play games with a next-gen console, and have money saved to pay for a premium OLED model, LG's C2 series is the TV for you. But if you're mainly a movie buff who likes to watch in a dim, cinema-like setting, you'll save money on, and most likely be just as happy with, an A2 series set.

The LG G1, C1, B2, and Sony A80 all have been under $1000.

This.

I guess if you missed ALL of the holiday deals on OLEDs and desperately need one right now, this is a fair price.

Personally I would probably go for a B2 if buying now for the 120Hz panel (and now that pretty much all the C1s are gone). I have heard that many B2s are getting the Evo panel now, just as many of the late production C1s did.

There have been so many better deals than this in the very recent past though, I would probably just wait.

The A2 is an OLED, and if all you are going to do is watch movies in 4k in a relatively dark room, this TV will still look great, but the B2 and C2 series (or C1 if you can still find one) have a lot more to offer in terms of refresh rate, brightness and (with the C1 and C2), image processing.

If you don't mind refurbished, Secondipity has both the A80J and A80K for $1000 on their own website and their eBay site. I hear the J is better than the X.

Best Buy [bestbuy.com] also has this for same price for the last couple weeks.
and LG Partners [lg.com] have it for $809.99 (if your employer is a partner)

I purchased this from BB today and going to try to price match to the LG Partner price in store.
I don't play games much so don't really need the 120Hz of the B2.

Plus the 60hz panel isn't bad either. I been playing my ps5 on it since i got the a2 48 inch for 580 after tax 628.

Same price at lg.com

It is interesting to note that Target isn't listed as an authorized seller.

This isn't much of a deal. The 48" A2 was $480 at Best Buy on at least two separate occasions, the 55" B2 was $900 after $100 shop card at Costco for a week around Black Friday, and the 55" Samsung S95B was $1000 for EDU/EPP up until a few days ago. And I'm not even including all the random BuyDig discounted OLEDs.

We're literally a few weeks away from seeing Super Bowl TV deals, then clearance deals on all the 2022 models. If you've already waited this long, might as well keep waiting a bit longer.

Clearance is good if they have stock left. Stores in our area are really low on the '22 models already

I would suggest c2 (c1) and if you can hold off a little I think week before superbowl there should be plenty of tv deals.

Only 60hz. If you do any gaming, you should at least hold out for a 120hz panel. I'd rather own a 120hz QLED than a 60hz OLED.
