This triggered my "powerline" alert I set years ago. I haven't kept up with the tech and don't have an immediate need, but I'm in.

I've got a use case to add surveillance cams 500ft away in another building. I'll need to tie that barn into the same electrical service first, which I might get around to someday.

These are very useful for cameras with an ethernet port. I've got a cheap Amcrest cam and powerline adaptor under an eve that I probably set up 7 years ago, and it still functions and never requires a reboot.

One review mentioned the ethernet ports are 1Gbps, so I don't know how they get away with calling this a 2000 mbps device. That said, nobody ever gets anywhere near the fictitious speeds advertised. I'd be extremely impressed if this could do 1/4 of the rated speed.

Def a shill post and the first two comments also sound so orchestrated. What a shame. I miss the old SD and better yet FW (for those that remember it).

How does this compare to the Moca 2.5 deal posted here recently? I "assume" the MOCA is way-less prone to speed loss due to electrical/wiring issues in a home?

nope
but you would be better off testing them in the most ideal situation first: plug them next to each other on a power strip and find out how fast it can actually go, and then do that again on your house wiring. and then look at their advertised speed.

MoCA is more expensive, and not everyone has coax cable already wired where they need it. However, MoCA has a much better "just works" reputation and is more likely to reach the advertised bandwidth.

I have a wifi extender that doesn't reach the end of the house - would this work?

Router -cat5> Powerline Tx -powerline> Powerline Rx -cat5> WiFi Extender -wifi> tablet

I used a power line adapter with pretty good results until I realized it was injecting noise into my guitar amp and computer setup which were in different outlets/rooms. Remove the power line adapters and noise went away. Not worth it to me.

Shill post. They're not even trying to hide it anymore with the "slickdeals" coupon code. I remember when sd used to say they'd never do this stuff. You can't trust "deals" on this site anymore.

Well, the poster is SD staff. Deal seems fine to me though.

How does this compare to TP Link AV1000? I've had great results with that one, but I assume they are not compatible, right? I'd like to add a couple more in different rooms.
