on another note. I like Meross products. I have their outdoor smart plug and a few smart light bulbs from them. they work great with Google Home.

Umm yes they are, not for this price, but ecobee with smart sensors does and can be used as a home security system so multi purpose, you will pay 5x the price tho, unless your utility gives you rebates and in eco+ mode it adjusts your home based on humidity levels to save on cooling/heating
