I am lucky with one of their stores very close by. However, I am reluctant without a product quality report as the chicken is not in a visible container. Can anyone who has purchased this or similar comment on whether or not they felt the amount of waste (fat) was significant? I have had a lot of boneless and skinless chicken products that were very trim but some have tons of fat that was not removed.

Great deal. I wish I hadn't downsized my fridge/freezer. There is no way 40lbs is going to fit in that little thing no matter how I try to convince myself it could work.

no, thighs are not the best cut. maybe your own personal preference is for "dark" meat, but I can assure you, in the industry, thigh meat is considered a lower grade cut and "dark" meat in general is considered lower grade.

In the world of bodybuilding it contains the most amount of leucine. In the world of cooking, it is much easier to not overcook, retains more juices, and overall is much more flavorful than breasts. So "the industry" doesn't matter one bit to me. Let them teabags enjoy dry tasteless white meat, while I get this for cheaper.

This is around typical price/quantity at Costco Business Centers.

I have been buying this for a while. The regular price at my Smart and Final comes out to $1.04 per pound. It is great quality chicken and comes packaged in 4, 10 pound bags that are all vacuum sealed so you don't have to thaw a 40 pound chicken brick. They also lay them pretty flat in the box so they are easier to thaw out.

Edit: Also, these are thighs so there is a little bit of fat that naturally comes on this cut. It is not a chicken breast with 0 Fat.

thats nice, but the bottom line is thighs are much higher in fat than boneless skinless breasts are. that's why it's cheaper. because low quality chicken fat has almost no monetary value in the industry compared to high quality protein. loads of people prefer the fatty taste of thighs because they are more "flavorful" but that is just a personal preference that means nothing to the industry. btw white meat doesn't have to be tasteless or dry either if you know how to cook a little.

Thanks, but as the other 99.98% of people on slickdeals, I'm buying these for personal consumption, not industrial purposes.

So in other words, "the industry" doesn't care what loads of people prefer? Nice industry you've got there!
