I agree completely but the comment was made to start a debate. He's coming to a deal that has nothing to do with Mac and leaving a comment for the sole purpose of getting a reaction. It's the same kind of people who went on the mac mini edu deal and did the same thing or who constantly troll switch deals or digital movie deals.

Your i7 will get Windows 10 officially until October 2025, so a bit less than 3 more years for a total of 8. About the same as the MacBook.
You are picking the one example where it works against Intel. I can give you many examples of the opposite. The 2nd gen Intel from 2011 got its service from 2011 to 2025, 14 years. The 8th gen Intel is from 2018 to 2031, or 13 years.
Plus with PC you can get unofficial updates or run Linux. With Mac it is much harder to get unofficial updates.
You can put Linux on Macs (did that with an old Mini). This will be true soon with the Apple Silicon ones, which are well on their way: https://asahilinux.org
Check out the site/youtuber "servethehome". They cover a lot of multiple NIC mini pc's/network appliances. Quite a bit of interesting stuff coming out that's a lot lower priced than it was just a year ago.

Went from Android to IOS after the fiasco with Pixel 6 pro, just moving into an ecosystem that updates hardware longer since I tend to keep my devices longer.
After having to replace a brand new iPhone 3 times in 4 months and a Mac pro that's 2 years old that needs $1200 repair because ports stopped working (childrens equip), I will not be switching to apple
