There's NO way a typical USB port can put out anywhere near enough power to get this thing above room temp.

That's my thinking too. But I'm tempted to try it, and see how bad it is? amazon return policy should let me not waste money if it's complete rubbish

Then again, the heated USB jackets can get pretty warm. So maybe it's similar? These aren't much bigger than a jacket?

exactly, its the same concept. There are multiple pads throughout this thing is what I'm thinking.

If you have your own blanket and you know how to sew, you can just buy the USB pads yourself and sew it into your blankets.

This couldn't be more than 12 watts right? I have a 30 watt heating pad for my cat and you can barely tell it's on if there isn't a cat on top insulating it. Like, it gets a tiny bit warm at 30 watts.

12V @ 10-20A from a car cigarette light, sure. 5V @ 0.5-2.0A coming from USB port. nope.
