After one night's test sleep, the 3" version did not sleep hot for me -- note I'm only 170 pounds and the foam is pretty firm so I don't sink deeply into it.
Also, I covered it with a 1.5 inch thick down-alternative pillow-top topper that insulates me from the memory foam.
It's on a very firm and fairly new Stearns & Foster mattress (not pillow top) and the 3" foam is in the goldilocks zone for me with good support and overall firmness while letting my old motocross injured shoulders and hips sink in enough for comfort.
I got this one to replace a 10 yr old 2" latex topper and new latex toppers are insanely expensive now.
For $60 I'm pleased with it
