That's fine if you have an Apple device, but it has limited volume output with Android devices. By design, it puts out 1volt with Apple devices and 0.5volt with Android. And just because this Monoprice has an undocumented DAC, doesn't mean it performs poorly. Also, most people could not hear a difference between DACs in blind testing regardless of price.

I believe only the EU version is limited to .5volts output, the NA and International version should output at 1volt regardless of Android or iOS.

Cheap DAC's are mature tech so I agree most cheap dongles sound fine and the vast majority of people won't be able to tell them apart unless the dongle is really crappy. Though with the Apple dongle you have a good idea of what you're getting.
