This is the same price as the previous Frontpage Deal if you missed it last time.

The other one has fingerprints. This one doesn't.

The other post featured both models; one without a fingerprint scanner and one with a fingerprint scanner. The one with the scanner is about $40 more than the one without.

How is this compared to other smart locks like wyze (same price) or schlage?

I don't know if anyone is familiar with Lock picking Lawyer on YouTube but there is a video of him opening one of these with the simplest technique in just a few seconds.

He can open any lock in seconds. I'm not worried.

That's the reason for camera around your house.

Well then, no need for a lock at all I guess.

Yea. Lock is pointless just like a border wall. Why bother.

Get the ultraloq pro if you want bump resistance: https://youtu.be/Os1oyIfhM-o

But if a thief wants to break into your place, they'll do it no matter what lock is on your door

Or just smash a window.

Smart deadbolts are handy if you have guests since you can give them codes to enter. This one even automatically unlocks if you're arriving home.

I have the newer version of this lock with a fingerprint reader [amazon.com] and it's terrible. I would recommend the Yale lock [amazon.com]over this one. While I know it cost more but experience is much better.

Not knocking this deal. We bought the Wyze one and I love it. Just in case anyone is on the fence for these home automation things.

What's terrible about it?

I also have that newer version and it's been fantastic so far. Reads our finger prints easily, which is super convenient. Able to set separate codes for close friends or in-laws (when unfortunately necessary).

Also set it to auto-lock after the door has been used and left unlocked for 15 minutes. I turn that off when we have a get-together and expect more guests, but it saves me the time of locking the door whenever my wife forgets to. I think I used Ring for this particular setting.
