1: Mine was shipped using the Intel RAID controller by default. For some reason this caused several hangs when playing games. A fresh install of Windows and bypassing the controller and I've had no issues since.
2: RAM upgrades are possible, but the machine is picky on the RAM manufacturer (no idea why). Corsair Vengance failed to work, but Crucial RAM worked with a little help from a reddit post about it. I went to 32GB for the long haul with the laptop.
Adding a 2TB NVME was fast and easy.
This is a great deal with an extremely capable full wattage GPU. Will there be more deals soon enough? Maybe. The way pricing is going lately, I say grab the great deals when you see them. I can't wait for the old price trends to come back, but they aren't back yet.
